I got this as a message back in February. Its fuckin hilarious and when it comes to idiocy I give it 4 stars.
Please excuse me if my music is not my own, unless noted otherwise.
"I am extremely supportive of D. I. Y artists and I think it's really cool that you're so devoted to that, but i feel it's only right to be honest. You're music sounds exactly like you're influences. Don't get me wrong, it's great to have artists that you look up to and aspire to be like, but to write and play music that sounds identical to their songs is a little less stimulating. It takes away from the real aspect of what you're trying to achieve. If you want people to really feel what you're feeling, you have to create it in your own style, untouched by other musical realms. It's near impossible to create something completely original, but you need to make it your own.
This is purely my own opinion, and im not a certified critic, but a fellow writer and musician."
Haha Paul Baribeau is a real good folk guy, but I'm doing great man, I get some new tattoos today and practice with my new band so I'm stoked, How have you been doing man?
yea i kinda figured, thats why i asked anon to check with you. i dont know of many beaches (that arent like swimming or diving beaches) in laguna. maybe we could just play in mission viejo or something. just do an afternoon show (cause i have to leave for work at 6)
even on a very public boardwalk/beach? cause like my basic idea is that we do it there so we can play and potentially get some money busking and use it for our gas since none of us are from laguna beach haha
thanks p. it means alot. i'm currently working on a new batch of songs. i'll probably use those if we put something out. hopefully it doesn't take too long.
Alright I say we go for the 22nd and have Your Yellow Dress play and ask Mike XVX
