Curtis Heuser is one of the midwest's premier decorative artists. His incredibly realistic murals and elegant faux finishes adorn some of America's finest homes.
He is a 1985 graduate of Northern Kentucky University, obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in painting and graphic illustration. Curtis received nurmerous academic scholarships and awards, and was formally honored by the university as the 1985 "Outstanding Graduate in Fine Arts."
In 1987, Curtis began working solely as a freelance artist--offering everything from paste up, to fine oil paintings on canvas. Today he is recognized as an expert in the decorative arts profession. His highly sought-after work, has been featured in "Cincinnati Magazine", "Design Magazine", "The Kentucky Post", "Citybeat", "Kentucky Homes & Garden Magazine", "Housetrends Magazine" and "The Cincinnati Enquirer". Several of his commissions have been spotlighted nationally on the syndicated show "Around the House" with Jay Shatz and on HGTV's "Before & After Show" with host Pat Simpson.
The recent Oct. 2007 release of his much anticipated book, "Your Home: A Living Canvas," documents the creative interior transformation of his historic home in Newport , KY. His efforts earned him the City of Newport's "Excellence in Historic Preservation Award" in 2005. The private residence has been spotlighted on several public home tours, including the nationally prestigious "2006 Tall Stacks Historic Home Tour", the annual "Newport Victorian Christmas Tour", and the "Northern Kentucky Home Builder's Remodeling Tour".
