The first seeds of Your Majesty were planted in the summer of 2007 when guitarist, Kevin Klein, left his previous projects, and began writing for a musical vision of his own. He brought his collection of tunes to College Park in hopes of finding musicians to collaborate with. After finding a handful of interested musicians, including vocalist Dave Gradin and bassist Kyle Simons, Your Majesty took their young, unpolished tunes to Justin Chapman to produce their first five track demo at the turn of the new year.
Since the release of these five tracks, Your Majesty has acquired two new members. Keyboardist, Rob Heald, a student at University of Maryland's School of Music along with Klein, was suggested by Gradin. With a near identical taste in music, and compositional tendency as Klein, Heald was a perfect fit. The band practiced for a couple months without a drummer, before practices became stagnant and unproductive. Another music major at Maryland, Anders Elliasson sat in with the band for their first show, In April 2008, and decided to commit to the band as their permanent drummer.
Your Majesty strives to encompass a broad spectrum of genres in their music, all the while remaining pleasant and listenable. From darker key centers and music that often follows classical voice leading and harmonic guidelines, a writing style often incorporated by band favorite Matthew Bellamy (Muse), to dirty, gnarly blues tunes, to upbeat, pop-friendly, sing-along dance-alongs, to ambient cello-driven pieces scored themselves, these five young musicians have their fingers in a variety of proverbial sugarbowls. They're currently writing for a full length album they wish to begin production on sometime in late 2008.
Musicians not mentioned on demo recordings: Kevin Duty (Keys), Matt Duty (Drums)

Thanks for the friend request! I'm always happy to find new music especially if it's up and comming. One of my good friends from UMCP is in a band called Bionicman, to make a long story short, I'm always happy to support local music. I like your songs, most of all "Love Wasn't What This Was About"! Thanks and maybe you guys will be performing a show nearby in the near future... <3 Kate
thanks for the friend request and kind words. sorry we didn't get to finish the set because of all that stuff that went down. hope to see you july 10th @ IOTA thanks -SPSD
Usually I ignore friend requests from bands, but after listening to the songs on your profile I'm totally psyched (especially love "Come to me"). Excellent music!
yup, gotta agree with hope. you people rock. still a little young imo, your sound isn't refined. but i love where your headed. i disagree with the dude holding a gun a few posts below me, your singer kicks fuckin ass.
hey nice guys your pretty decent i'd say just get a better singer and you guys are set for a record deal. You current singer can carry a tune but he doesn't have enough grit or passion in his voice it makes me bored.
Thanks for taking the time to check out my little myspace!! I hope you liked the music. I'm trying to put together a little tour so let me know where you like to see shows and I'll check it out. Have an awesome weekend!
Hi Kevin ! Thanks you for your words & congratulations for your music, it's make me trip! Sure , i'm know E.S.T., they are european and famous here ! we made a show before them last year...nice people, But I prefer (fan of) Brad Meldhau, or Ahmad Jamal, or Monty Alexander...
I'm finally getting a chance to listen to your stuff... Its alittle dreary... reminds me of Floyd - but I like it. Throw some tempo on that bitch, go platinum, and send me a T-Shirt ;)
