   Ground Zero Music's Blurbs
About me:
Welcome to Ground Zero Music's Myspace page. This page has been designed to raise awareness about the famous Indianola, Iowa independently-owned music store. Ground Zero Music started out of an Indianola basement back in 1990 and has blossomed into a beautiful 8,000+ square foot music store and is a haven for some the best and most recognized members of the Iowa music scene, past and present. Using Myspace.com and www.groundzero music.com, we at the 'shop' have decided to start a program entitling all members of the music scene to a special discount at our shop. So here's the deal; if you are a member of the new Ground Zero Music Band-Aid Program, you are entitled to a 10% discount off ANYTHING in our shop, at any time. Please read on to see what all products we carry, but we can safely say that just about anything that you need, we can get for you, and for 10% cheaper than the Musician's Friend (Guitar Center) prices. So what do you have to do to get on this program? Pretty simple, actually. The Ground Zero banner that's posted on this page needs to be posted on your band's Myspace page. That's it. And in turn, we will post your band on this site as part of the program with your logo, so everyone that visits our site will see your link. Everybody wins.

Who I'd like to meet:
Of course we'd like to meet every person that makes up the Iowa music scene. Whether you're close by or not, GZ Music can hook you up with the best and newest gear on the music market. So how about you meet some of us, everyone that makes up the team at Ground Zero Music. Owner Mark Timm has been an avid member of the music scene for almost 20 years. Mark plays guitar for the legendary band 'The Rathbones,' which still gigs once or twice a year in front of a few thousand people. James Tupper, owner, has run sound for a couple of people you may know, BB King, Buddy Guy, Patty Loveless, and countless others. Although permanently retired from the road, James still can be seen from time to time running live sound for The Rathbones, and even Des Moines hard-rock heavyweights Mindrite. Donnie Mengwasser, drummer for the band Mindrite, works as the drum dept. manager and does drum instruction for people of all ages through GZ Music. Ground Zero Music currently has the biggest lesson program in the state. Teacher, James Biehn, is the lead guitar player from the rock group 'Soap Box Profits.' The list of friends and family could go on forever so please take our word for it, there's a reason why we all associate and share our intense love for music in the same place, Ground Zero Music.

"A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.

About that Taylor 514-CE that I bought last week from you-it is hands down the best acoustic guitar I've ever played or owned or heard. Ground Zero knows and sells quality instruments and I tell everyone I know how awesome you guys are!
