Everything started as an acoustic night in may ‘05… we been asked by our friend Giovanni Gandolfi from Unhip Records to play this acoustic show as the Juniper Band, so we rearranged a bunch of our song, a couple of covers, two more friends playing guitar and female vocals… this was joke-sort-of, but we loved it, so we started thinking about making a record out of it, even if it was a lo-fi one with no selling purposes…
It was a hard time anyway… we left our record label, we had lots of things to do but no budget at all, and two different sides of one band to deal with…
We found ourselves working on the album in late september, with a new female vocalist – Maria Giulia – and Lele on guitars and singing we found out the songs were really different from the show, and the new ones were different too... but we liked it even more so we decided: let’s start another band from this !…
Then our friends Bruno and Gianluca said they were interested about producing the album with us… so we got into Bruno’s Vacuum Studio in our hometown Bologna and did the job…
We recorded it live on tape, and many friends joined the band: Tiziano Bianchi from Portfolio played trumpet, Vittorio Demarin from Father Murphy played violin and Bruno from Settlefish played some guitar and sang…
What came out was unexpected to us… there was this wonderful electricity in the air, and a lot of love was put on tape…
Even if most of the songs in our first album belong to the Juniper Band, this is NOT a side projects or whatever...
This band is our daughter, this record is our link to the Mother...

Come va? Ti/vi auguro buone cose..
