Youth Against Poverty Europe 's Blurbs |
About me:
Youth Against Poverty Europe are focused on spreading awareness of child poverty. We hope that the younger generation will understand the need of eradicating child poverty globally and do their part in the fight to end it.
Many teens have preconceived thoughts of people in poverty and how charities use their money for them - "They are all drug addicts", "They had a choice", "The money doesn't go to them, "Who cares, it's not me". Our goal is to change those thoughts and ideas by educating them about what is really happening. They will understand exactly how children in poverty are living and what they - as young people can do about it.
"Lend your voice to make a difference" is the motto of our EU organization. We believe young people who are motivated will use their energies and resources to spread the word around. Each of our voices can be a powerful and useful weapon against child poverty. They will be able to challenge their peer group and others by speaking to them about child poverty and help them to join in the fight against it. Young people can also get involved with different activities to help in the fight.

EDUCATION. INSPIRATION.MOTIVATION.
We are not a faith based organization.
The two most common definitions of poverty currently in use are:
RELATIVE POVERTY
Relative poverty is defined in relation to the standards of living in a society at a particular time. People live in poverty when they are denied an income sufficient for their material needs and when these circumstances exclude them from taking part in activities which are an accepted part of daily life in that society.
ABSOLUTE POVERTY
Absolute poverty refers to the level of resources needed to sustain physical survival. People are poor if they cannot feed clothe or house themselves and their dependants. It is based on a person's biological needs. This is the most common way in which people visualise poverty.

50-percent of its revenue to the charities and schools designated by its users. It's a simple and compelling concept. You use GoodSerach exactly as you would any other search engine.

You can help in the fight against apathy. Educate everyone you know on the facts of child poverty. Make them aware of the 30,000 children who die each day from hunger and preventable diseases. Tell them how they could be spending their money and time helping to prevent these deaths, rather than buying designer clothing, and unnecessary products. Over 650 million children are currently struggling to survive on less than $1 a day.
There are many different ways to inform people of the facts. You can start a conversation, contact the media, online blogs and communities, school assembly, benefit concert, flyers, etc.
For more information on how you can educate others please contact us either on Myspace or @:
