The Youth Cancer Trust was founded in 1997 by Brenda Clark, who had recently lost her only child Tracy Ann, aged 21, from cancer.
During Tracy Ann's illness, Brenda wanted somewhere she could take her daughter, somewhere she could be, with people her own age, who knew what she was going through. Determined to give other youngsters suffering with cancer that opportunity, she threw all her energy into making her dream a reality.
Tracy Ann house can occupy eight young people from Monday to Friday each week. The Youth Cancer Trust like to make every possible activity available (horse riding, go karting, water sports, dry slope skiing, etc) and invariably all the groups have a wonderful holiday whatever the weather. Youngsters can bring a friend or sibling with them on the holiday.
Recent statistics from Cancer Research UK show that each week in the UK, 40 teenagers are diagnosed with cancer. That's 6 every day.
And lots of them come down to Bournemouth to meet each other and share the experience. It's free so why not give us a call and have a chat. We can fill you in with all the details of how to apply.
Bring a friend, brother or sister with you for FREE
Please don't forget we take bookings for holidays all year round. If you have cancer or you know someone with cancer, aged 14 to 30. Please tell them about our FREE fun holidays!
