About me: Youth ECHO is a group of Red Hook teens who want to use their voices to speak out and take action on the issues that directly affect their lives.
The 8-month program focuses on leadership and community organizing and will introduce important information and tools to its organizers and other young people so they can feel ready and able to take action on the issues and realities of their lives. We will look at how Red Hook youth are affected by policing and jails, schools, health and other public policies. Youth ECHO Community Organizers will work with guerilla marketing professionals around the city to design and execute a message campaign to take their ideas to other Red Hook teens. The program will provide them with the space, tools, and support they need to think about and create the kinds of neighborhood change they want.
