Stop the Governor from erasing history!
They are talented artists, renowned poets and writers, and leaders of the women's suffrage and civil rights movements.
They have challenged us, inspired us and moved our society and our people to question what kind of legacy we want to leave behind for future generations.
They have left an indelible mark on California, the United States and the fabric of our history. Yet, Governor Arnold Schwarzeneger has threatened to veto SB 1437 (Bias-Free Curriculum Act) - in effect - erasing the contributions of people like Susan B. Anthony, Bayard Rustin and Walt Whitman from California's classrooms and textbooks.
This August 2006, urge the Governor to sign SB 1437 into law in order to ensure that he holds the textbook industry accountable for providing all students in California schools with an accurate and complete historical representation of these important peoples contributions to our society.
Take action! Let your voice be heard and let the Governor know what you think about his proposed veto of SB 1437!
