About me:

YOUTH SERVICE AMERICA (YSA) is an international resource center that partners with thousands of organizations around the world committed to increasing the quality and quantity of volunteer opportunities for young people, ages 5-25, to serve locally, nationally, and globally. Founded in 1986, YSA’s mission is to expand the impact of the youth service movement with communities, schools, corporations, and governments. YSA envisions a global culture of engaged youth who are committed to a lifetime of service, learning, leadership and achievement. YSA works toward that mission through four core strategies: *Organizing Public Policy and Awareness Campaigns *Convening the Field *Offering Incentives and Recognition *Providing Information and Educational Resources.

Happy World Fair Trade Day, Saturday May 12, 2007!!!

World Fair Trade Day is the world’s annual recognition of Fair Trade, celebrated on and around the second Saturday of May every year. This year’s theme: “Kids Need Fair Trade,” highlights the role that children play in Fair Trade. Fair Trade guarantees fair prices and community development and contributes to ending child labor and supporting education programs in rural areas around the globe.

Celebrate this year’s World Fair Trade Day by practicing conscious consumerism. “Look for the label” and buy Fair Trade Certified products! You can help spread the word about Fair Trade: nominate Fair Trade Certified, the official page of TransFair USA, for the MySpace Impact Awards!
