About me:

This site is all about the Elmwood-Mudock Youth choir trip to Carnegie Hall trip in May of 2009. Yes our small school was honored to be invited to sing at the infamous Carnegie Hall in New York City!

 It is quite the honor.

For students and sponsors attending: This is the place to stay up to date on the latest details, fund raising schedules and share information with family and friends who want to share in the excitement!!

This is the place to keep track of recent events, our progress in fund raising, and give support to the students and school and share in the excitement!

But how did all this begin you might ask? In the spring of 2008 Dr. William Wyman, from Wesleyen University, was judging a state district music contest where the Elmwood-Murdock choir was performing. He was so impressed with the quality and sound of the students that he invited the choir to be part of his group to sing at Carnegie Hall

Who I'd like to meet:

What famous people could we see in New York City?

Could we get on TV during Good Morning America?

Run into celebrities at the back door of the David Letterman show, or on Broadway...who knows?

We are a close community, not only are sports social events of the year, but the Spring and Christmas concerts are highly anticipated.

More than 50% of the high school participates in music with over 70 kids in band and 66 students in choir. Our jazz band is also pretty impressive with over 15 students.

This is all from a high school that has a total of approximately 120 students (Freshman-Seniors)

The Wu-Tang Clan's Ghostface Killah will perform at the Waiting Room Monday night!! Don't miss your chance to see this rap superstar in a club setting. Dust off your copies of "Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)," his '96 debut album "Ironman," Raekwon's "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx," or some of his more recent releases including "Supreme Clientele," "Fishscale," "The Big Doe Rehab," or go grab his new album "Ghostdini: Wizard of Emerald City" which dropped on Sept. 29th and then tell me you're not excited for this show. Get your tickets early this event will sell out!!

Few artists make an impact as complete as the one Matisyahu has made. Here was a true original, a Hasidic Jewish musician from New York City singing reggae songs about his religious devotion. True originals, though, don’t stay put for long, and on his bold new album, Light, 29-year-old Matisyahu proves that there’s much more to his artistry than might initially meet the eye. Don't miss your chance to see him live at one of the best venue's in the country Thursday night at the Slowdown. Get your tickets early this event will sell out!!

We are so flippin' excited for the return of some of our favorite performers (and good friends) to the "Good Life." Everytime EOTO hits the stage it is different every night as it is always 100% improvisational. I must add that it is always 100% BAD ASS as well! Live Breaks, Drum and Bass goodness from two incredible musicians. This is going to be an amazing night of music and surprises as we take our Halloween Event to another level. We wanted everyone to fully understand that this will be THE Halloween Event in our area! Local Live Electronica studs Somasphere will be on hand to kick-off the festivities. I don't know if you have seen these guys lately but they are going big and we couldn't be more proud that they are representing our region! This will be a perfect way to get the spirits summoned for what will be a night of scary good times! Pirate Transmissions will be on hand to spook your senses with visual stimulation. Looking forward to seeing you all getting down in your costumes as EOTO returns to spread the good vibes and get you all movin and groovin. ALL OF THIS FOR ONLY $13 IN ADVANCE...Purchase advance tickets at ETIX.com or the Bourbon Theatre coffee shop.

The Return of Buckethead - Sept. 13th - Slowdown - Omaha

    Hello fellow fans and freaks,

We had so much fun last year when Buckethead graced us with his appearance that we decided to do it once again. He had so much fun with all of you that he accepted the request and will be returning to the "Good Life" Sun. Sept. 13th to play the Slowdown in Omaha, NE. This time around he will be bringing Wolff (formally of Drums and Tuba) as support to add even more explosiveness to the evening. Buckethead will be bringing a much bigger and badder show so prepare to strap on your seatbelts for what will surely be a wild ride. We hope you had a good time last year and will be ready to join us again for more good times and mind-blowing guitar shredding by the one and only Buckethead! Looking forward to seeing you all again raging with the Man, the Myth, the Legend... Mr. Buckethead!

Tickets for this all ages event are available now @ www.radkadillac.com, www.etix.com, locally at all Etix locations (Homer's Music Stores in Omaha and Lincoln), and at the Slowdown's Box Office during their normal hours of operation. Please visit www.theslowdown.com for more information.

Touring in support of their #1 Billboard World Music Album "What's the Rumpus," Gaelic Storm returns to Omaha with their infectious Celtic grooves, and traveling pub atmosphere, to the Slowdown to get you all warmed up for the best holiday of the year (in my opinion). If you haven't witnessed the full blown Gaelic Storm experience, now's your chance to catch them on their whirlwind tour as they celebrate St. Patty's Day throughout the month of March.

If you actually need more incentive, Omaha's own Southpaw Bluegrass Band will get the crowd fired up at 8:30 pm. Get there early, enjoy an extra Guiness and the local stylings of SBB! Better get Thursday morning off...

Plain and simple, everytime this group hits the area, the room is packed and the people have a great time. This event should be more of the same as tickets are going quickly. Party people unite as we prepare to dance a jig, slug some Jameson and celebrate with friends!

We are very excited to welcome back Toubab Krewe as they return with their unique blend of American rock, surf, and jazz styles with traditional West

African sounds and instruments to the Box Awesome in Lincoln on Mar. 3rd. This music transcends cultures and catagories in a completely unprecedented

way. This was one of our favorite shows from last year and we couldn’t be more excited as they return in support of their recently released sophomore

album “Live at the Orange Peel.” This time around they have The Bridge from Baltimore opening with their smooth Americana, Blues, Roots music. This is

a great double bill for the low cost of only $10! Trust us, you will not want to miss this show. The Box will be rocking… CONFIRMED!

Don’t miss the band that Afrobeat Worldwide says “ sets a new standard for fusions of rock 'n' roll and West African music” as they tour in support of their

new album that Village Voice describes as "a futuristic, psychedelic, neo-griot frenzy" and Honest Tune hails as "one of the most innovative voices in music

    today."
