   About Ypsilanti District Library Presents YSF’08
WEMU's Jeremy Baldwin interview with Paul Burch. Listen

Thank you for your submissions to perform in the 2008 Ypsilanti Songwriting Festival's Local Showcase. We are glad to know so many folks are interested in playing and hope to see you all. At this time, submissions are no longer being accepted because the response was so popular. Since this year we only have 5 local performance slots, we are looking to connect with other artists we meet at the fest for next years showcase and if a lot of folks come out this year, we may expand the number of performers for 2009. Thank you for your submissions!

"I shot an arrow into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For so swiftly it flew, the sight
Could not follow it in its flight.

I breathed a song into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For, who has sight so keen and strong
That it can follow the flight of song?

Long, long afterward, in an oak
I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end,
I found again in the heart of a friend."

(Henry Wadsworth Longfellow)

Here's hoping my music will always find a place in your heart...

Cheers,
-Dave

To my new friends in Ypsilanti! Thanks for befriending me! Please stay in touch and let me know what's new -- I'll enjoy hearing from you :-) In the meantime, I'll leave you with my favorite quotation: "We are the sum of all the moments of our lives—all that is ours is in them: we cannot escape or conceal it." - Thomas Wolfe
