Thank you for your submissions to perform in the 2008 Ypsilanti Songwriting Festival's Local Showcase. We are glad to know so many folks are interested in playing and hope to see you all. At this time, submissions are no longer being accepted because the response was so popular. Since this year we only have 5 local performance slots, we are looking to connect with other artists we meet at the fest for next years showcase and if a lot of folks come out this year, we may expand the number of performers for 2009. This Sunday (Oct. 19th) at the Corner Brewery in Ypsi Hullabaloo is playing a benefit for Growing Hope Starts after the Bike Ypsi Fall Ride So 4ish-6 or 7ish $1-20 Suggested Donation
Growing Hope is a great local non-profit helping people improve their lives and communities through gardening. Growing Hope works on food security issues, hosts the Tuesday Farmers Market in Ypsi, teaches gardening and nutrition in local schools, helps start community gardens (25+ so far) and lots of other cool stuff. www. growinghope. net
Bike Ypsi is a local bike group They host a Sunday Ride and advocate for safe cycling on are roads. They have rides every Sunday leaving from Rec. Park at 1pm. The fall ride also leaves from Rec. Park on Congress at but leave a little before one so get there by 1230...and wear your helmet. www. bike. ypsi. org
