The Ypsitucky Colonels are a veritable roots-rock supergroup. Guitarist Col. R Baker, has played lead guitar in many of southeast Michigan’s best bands, including the Urbations and the Boomerangs. Bassist Col. Eric Kelly is one of the area’s best singer-songwriters and also anchors the unstoppable Dirt Road Logic. Col. John Crawford has drummed with such legendary bands as Destroy All Monsters and Nikki and the Corvettes and singer-guitarist Col. Will Stewart has played with alt-country upstarts Corndaddy long enough to be earning a pension.
The Ypsitucky Colonels have created an entirely new musical genre. Think of it as Pub Rock and Power Pop meeting Country Rock out in the Garage.
