CURRENT ACTIVITIES @ YSB: COOKING WITH JOOR! Learn how to cook from a real chef! Classes held once per month at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wyoming. Fee: $10 per youth Who? 7th-12th graders When: 6-8PM Call 651.464.3685 for current dates! YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD (YAB)! YAB is run through the Youth Service Bureau and is made up of 7th-12th grade students who wish to make a positive impact on those around them. We address the issues you think are important and brainstorm ways to make a difference. Help plan service projects, have parties, participate in fun programs, hold meetings and know you are an important part of your community! Join either Forest Lake YAB or North Branch YAB today! COFFEE TALK! Coffee Talk is for high school girls. We meet every other week for an hour at 3 different coffee shops (Forest Lake, North Branch & Chisago City) to talk, share, grow, connect, learn & relate about the issues you think are important to talk about! Every girl who comes to Coffee Talk will get a travel mug for free! Earn your Coffee Talk Punches! You'll get 1 punch for attending a meeting and 1 punch for bringing a new friend. Once you get 10 punches you will earn up to a $3 drink for free, paid for by YSB! Choose your favorite beverage, fill your mug and join us for Coffee Talk! It's free to participate, except for the cost of your beverages & snacks! HIDDEN HEROES! Sign up to receive mail at least once per month from a caring adult who would like to encourage you throughout the school year. You will not know who your mystery pen pal is, only the excitement of opening up their letters each month. If you'd like, you can write back to your adult match via YSB's address! All adults have had background checks. YSB hosts an ice cream social each May for you to meet your Hidden Hero match! JOB CONNECTION! YSB trains 12-15 year olds every May to be eligible to work for adults 55+ and/or disabled in the Forest Lake area. If you're interested, apply EARLY, beginning in March of each year.
