Sounds Like
Hopefully, a bunch of singers and musicians having a good time - not always with the most tasteful of material, either. Have you noticed that its always the quiet ones ........
Here we are at the beginning of the summer season (which makes it sound like Blackpool's North Pier - but not quite) and we've got some very tasty things in the diary - and always happy to add one or two more, if you have anything to offer.
The high spot for us is, of course, the Tolpuddle Martyrs Festival - where we'll be joining the comrades for a jolly weekend of songs of class solidarity with the usual choruses of class betrayal. See you there.
We've been asked to play a set of sea songs - not the most PC of material, I have to admit, so there may be some vigorous debate following the set.
Why do the women always die? - or get pregnant? - or are abandoned? - or give sailors the pox?
Why are the men such bastards (why do you have to ask???)
Hopefully the weather will be good to us again -lat year we were probably the only band to play out of doors during Dorchester Festival - we even got some sunshine. This year we'll be playing from the bandstand in Borough Gardens which will be a bit of a change from a neolithic henge.
