The YTO-style is sweet, tight and sludge-heavy with a focus on groove, mood and metal extravaganza.
The founders Thomas and Karl-Magnus have common ground in metal, hard rock and sample based music but love many other styles. Seeking an authentic expression in the internet era we find that the only solution is genre-anarchy.
The YTO-Crew is an experienced bunch of musicians who deliver explosive and tight live shows with both experimental and mainstream appeal. Metal, jazz, ambient, drum&bass and electronica are amongst the genres they harvest for inspiration. There’s no doubt that this might be one of the most interesting acts, both live and recorded, coming out of Oslo’s underground scene.
After 3 years of writing, jamming, recording and producing new material they are proudly presenting their debut album "YTO SOLREISER". Released April Fools Day 2009 on the record label Urban Sound Recordings and distributed by Indie Distribution, this monolithic but diverse production has been inspired by good people, a lust for life and an undying love for all good music.
This fall YTO Solreiser will continue by releasing the breakbeat triology, an explosive mix of metal and drum&bass. Followed by a homage coverparade interpreting some of our favourite songs by amongst others; Tacoheads, Mean Martin,Pay-per-frog, Joe Fountain, Stonegard, Prodigy and Meshuggah .
YTO Live:
As well as raw and heavy metal shows we do drum n bass/electronica and ambient/jazzy concerts, which is partly or fully improvised by the lineup; sampler, looping, guitar, bass, drums, saxophone and vocals.
We are always open to do collaborations with other interesting artists and musicians, in all genres.
