Singer/songwriter, YUKA TAKARA, was born and raised in Okinawa, Japan. Trained in classical ballet, Yuka moved to New York City to pursue a career in dance, which eventually led her to the world of theatre. Yuka made her Broadway debut in the original Broadway cast of "Mamma Mia" and shortly after joined the original Broadway cast of the "Flower Drum Song" revival, understudying Lea Salonga in the role of Mei-Li, a role she would take over for the First National Tour of Flower Drum Song to rave reviews. Her other Broadway credits include the recent revival of Stephen Sondheim's "Pacific Overtures" at Studio 54, directed by celebrated Japanese director Amon Miyamoto. Yuka starred as Connie Wong in the Broadway revival company of "A Chorus Line" and is featured in the Sony Pictures documentary "Every Little Step".
