ORIGIN
was created by Sara Galassini and Yukio Tsuji.
They have been collaborating and creating original
music influenced by their diverse cultural backgrounds, Italy Japan
and now NYC where their work finally comes together rooting itself in a
way of looking at life more than a specific genre of music.
Yukio Tsuji (Composer, Shakuhachi player, Percussionist ) Originally from Tokyo, has been on stage since he was eight years old. He has been working as a composer with Estelle Parsons, Late Jerome Robins, Jullie Taymour, Ellen Stewart, Sir Peter Hall, Late John Dexter, Andre Serban and many other major theater directors. He has been the house composer, musician for La MaMa E.T.C for decades and as a composer and a performer, his music has been heard all around the world among theaters, films and dance companies. He resides in New York City and working on his new group "ORIGIN" with the singer, lyricist Sara Galassini, developing how to combine theatrical essence and different cultures into music. He composed and performed on Broadway production “ SALOME “ with Al Pacino, directed by Estelle Parsons, Co-arranged and performed on “ M. Butterfly”, Composed and performed on the title music of the movie “ Year of the Dragon “ , Co-arranged and performed on 9 Acts Production “ TANTALAS “ directed by Sir Peter Hall, produced by Royal Shakespeare Co. and Denver Center. 7 Acts Production of Greek Tragedy “ SEVEN ” directed by Ellen Stewart. And the most recently, "Night Over Taos" Directed by Estelle Parsons. And the group "ORIGIN" is becoming more active around New York area.***********************************************************************************************
Sara Galassini (Actor, Dancer, Singer Song Writer) originally from Italy has lived and worked in New York City for the past 8 years. She is a baby of La MaMa E.T.C. and is a member of the Great Jones Repertory Company and Loco 7. She has danced since the age of 5 and started acting in her teen age years. In New York she started expressing through her voice and words collaborating with Yukio. Among the people that have helped her find the artist in her she'd like to thank Yukio, Ellen Stewart, Giuliano Lenzi, Gabriella Bartolomei, John Strasberg.......
