   About Yukos The Crude

Please direct any booking inquiries to our email address (yukosthecrude AT yahoo.com), thanks.

.... ..

Describing Yukos the Crude is difficult. Some say they are a ska/punk/lounge/grunge/other band. Others say gothic disco. Still others say scientist rock. It's quite possible that they hit the nail on the head with this description, and that would put YtC up there with TMBG, except cruder. The band refers to itself as being Hydrocarbonic Iron Fist Core since no one knows exactly what that is...

What is certain is that Yukos the Crude was started in Columbia, South Carolina by three USC students, rising out of the ashes of a doomed TV show by the name of Common Undergrad. Hence, many of their earlier songs have college themes and will probably be scattered throughout their discography for some time to come. Later songs, however, retain the level of humor of the college-themed songs, but bring the Crude Factor up a notch or ten.

Of course, some (if not all) of our songs can be considered offensive. That's why we have a song called "Disclaimer". We have nothing against gay people or nymphomaniacs, honestly.

Hey Friends! Get your asses down to New Brookland this Saturday for the best underground punk show of the year!
Tell all your friends too!

It's going to be a blast and we'd love to show all of the out of town bands what columbia's all about...

We're going to be releasing our debut album "Presents Pasts and Futures" on Friday, August 17th at the Whig on the corner of Main St. and Gervais. Admission is free and show should get rolling around 10ish with Josh Bowers (a SUPERB singer/songwriter from Lancaster South Carolina.) We're really excited. Hope to you see you there!
