About me:

I am Ulster Napoles. I am one of approx. 7 billion people in the world; I guess that makes me one of a kind, but in all fairness, everyone is genetically one of a kind, so there you have it. I try to get along with everyone so please don’t ask me to chose sides. I’m a uniter not a divider, I guess? I seek all that is right, fair and just, but not limited to that, because mercy and compassion are big ups too. If you were ever my friend, you will always be my friend one way or another. I will listen to your problems and support you however I can, but I know my limitations, so I apologize now if I’m not the best of help. I have a pretty complicated mindset, I think too much into things, which makes me slow to act. But then again, I’m not an actor, so I don’t act. See what I mean? I’m a sucker for Jordans, Levi’s jeans, sensual saxophone music, new gadgets and monochromatic art. I love to travel, hotspots would be Hong Kong, Sydney, Toyko, London, Rome, Paris and Venice. Someday I'm going back, but in the meantime, roadtrips around Cali will just have to do. I skate to skate, not to impress but to improve. I think I would be a good boyfriend and hopefully an even better husband to a woman out there somewhere, I just haven’t found her yet. Patience is a virtue. Do not mistake my hesitation for self-doubt. Do not mistake my shyness for low self-esteem. I like to write simple complexities through verses. I have pretty big dreams and even greater aspirations and I am no where near them. I am not embarrassed by my flaws; acknowledgement is the first step to improvement. Everyday is a constant reminder of goodness and the badness in the heart of man. It’s upsetting to feel powerless to change the world. I believe that there is a purpose for everything, and that God, Allah, Yeweh, the Higher Power, whatever you want to call Him has meaning for us all. I am the founder of a clothing line called 4n6 {is bigger than us all} that is dedicated to the pursuit of making everyone think that style and substance can stand as one. I go to school at SWC and work at Home Depot. It's not the most glamorous thing in the world, but I never said that I was into glamour. I'm working on my jumpshot. I'm the notorious philosopher in the group, but hardly formulate my philosophies. Yeah, I blog. Read it why don't you. I believe that we are all products of social location and victims of being wage slaves. I believe that the betterment of the world starts from within. Do unto others.. Be tailored for truth. Peace and much love to ya.

Singapore is Life My family and I moved to Singapore half way into 1rst grade. I didn't really understand it at first, but realized that it has been one of the greatest times in my life. For 7 years I've been blessed to attend one of the best schools in the world and have met a lot of interesting people. It was Singapore where I was groomed with the value systems of morality that I have today and am very thankful and appreciative for being to experience what I did. Now that I'm back to San Diego, I hope to one day utilize what I have gained from the place that I call home and be successful in the future. I want to make the place where I was raised proud of me. In a sense, I consider myself a Singaporean, and never forget that tiny island full of memories.

Kicks are a Love: //Edit// There is a world out there that is totally captivated by sneakers. I am a part of that world. I’ll admit that I, like so many people in the world, have this crazy obsession with shoes. I do however offer an argument that would like to attempt to legitimize their importance in our society. We are an active people. The world never sleeps and thus there are constantly people on the go. Since we are always moving there needs to be some sort of protection of the most abused part of the body; the feet. Think about it, when you stand, when you move, what takes all your body weight x gravity? Your feet. So its only fair that you should invest in something that will help stabilize that which in turn will allow your knees to last longer and will also relieve pressure from your back. Its simple, good shoes, better physical strength. As being a sneakerhead is concerned, I have focused my energy on one particular entity; the Brand Jordan. Who better represents excellence in a leg demanding sport other than Michael Jordan? And what better company has what better technology than Nike? You put the two together and that’s God at work friends. I’m not so much into Nike SB’s. Not into shelltoes, definitely no Reeboks and no New Balance, sorry. I’ve got my hands full as is. With a current collection of 23 pairs of Jordans, over 60 pairs overall, I’m continuing my collection above and beyond. I’m not trying to get my hands on everything, nor try to reach the heights as other people, its simply impossible, but what I am trying to do is collect a certified and technologically enhanced basketball shoe with style and grace. The Brand Jordan is oozing with all that, so its without question that I’ve committed myself to it. The only problem is the hype and the hefty price tag that comes along with it. But to me, the pros override the cons, and I have invested a certain percentage of every paycheck to my obsession. Everyone’s got a hobby, and this is mine.

Streetwear intergrates Life: //Edit// Clothing is one of the essentials when it comes to basic needs; there’s no denying that. So it becomes extremely hard to justify having to pay a pretty penny for a name but all too often that’s the price that we take. Whatever your style or steez or swagger, there’s always the onlookers, the early adopters and trendsetters that market that for and to you. There is no doubt that the clothes you wear say something about you; they are an extension of your personality. They illustrate your thoughts and feelings, and in a way, your take on life as a whole. You may not see it now, but trust, given time, you’ll get a clearer understanding on this particular subject. Streetwear, to be specific, has metamorphosed and embodied an entire subculture unto its own. It gathered peoples from the walks of the streams of hip hop, rock, punk, skate and surf into this conglomeration of tastes and ideas into one. As with many merging things, a common voice speaks out for the rest and to me it is unfortunate that this voice somewhat glories the admitted negativity of the world. Why must guns and knives and brass knuckles give us the cool guy image but more importantly, why is that image so captivating that many try to emulate that? I don’t have an answer to that. I’m merely an observer. What I do know though is that the mark that you bear on your chest says a great deal about you and what you as a person represent. I’m not trying to convert people to different brands, the thought of it is really quite silly. Nor am I trying to promote my brand – 4n6 {is bigger than us all} – to each their own. For me, I’m quite content with what my brand represents. More on that later…

Faith in Faith: no person should ever feel inferior to another being. The same is true about superiority. We are all God’s children with our own individual gifts. No one can do everything, but everyone can do something, contributing to the whole. I’m pretty sure they call that sort of thing “teamwork”. You don’t have to quote me on that nor need to ask for citations, its proof is in the pudding as you can witness this phenomena everyday. Don’t ever feel that worthless. But don’t feel too proud. Pride leads to vanity and vanity to arrogance. To understand humans, you must grasp the concept of Humanity and Humility. We are not perfect. We feel. Without suffering there can be no compassion, hence no appreciation for the greater good. You must have rainstorms to better appreciate the bright sunny days.
