Tennessee's own "Yung Frazier" is an artist quickly becoming known as one of the premier new talents in the Hip Hop World. And Jamar Frazier a.k.a. Yung Frazier plans on remaining so throughout the his musical career.
Early on, his mother taught him that independence and discipline are keys to success. At the age of 10 years old his mother was diagnosed with rheumatic fever of the heart and passed away soon after. Yung Frazier remained inspired by his mothers independence throughout his experiences as a foster child. The level of skill he possesses and his attention grabbing swagger is a direct reflection of his work ethic and perseverance in music.
Yung Frazier can be best described as a lyrical activist whose words are meant to inform, inspire and entertain. And these arent attributes he chose to take on willingly, these traits stem from personal experiences that have molded him to be the exciting new emcee you see today. The release of the mixtape series "Rock City Track Life" Volume 1 and 2 has created a tremendous national and international buzz showing hard evidence that this fresh young artist has what it takes to revive the creative void left in Hip Hop.
The anticipated release of Yung Fraziers debut album REALITY CHECK shows off many different styles that make him a universal MC, despite his Southern roots. "I'm what you call versatile," he says. "I've worked and grinded for years to keep the dream alive." Yung Frazier reflects, "You have to realize, Tennessee has alot of artist doing their share. They grinding real hard right now, and my goal is to KEEP the grind hard...and keep pushing the envelope of creativity."
The album is also the first street themed Hip Hop album without any profanity or the N Word, B word, and other language the Hip Hop community has come under fire for recently. "I recorded this album at a historic moment in history, the anniversary of Dr. Kings death, and the nomination of our first black president of the United States. I had to make a statement for my generation and the ones after me, its hard on them on the streets right now, everywhere, so they need to see a person they can respect to have a balance of positivity and creativity in writing Hip Hop music."
