Yunioshi: A potted history so far!
Well, we've not been around that long but we've been very busy. In our first year we managed to get two tracks from our first EP1 picked up for ad syncs (Kia and Vauxhall cars), released our first single, played Nottingham Arena as well as numerous other fantastic venues around the country, and even picked up our fourth member Hakushi Yunioshi San - our brand spanking new live drummer. 2008 was a tough year for Hakushi who suffered a T8 level spinal injury at the start of 2008 leaving him paralysed from the waist down. However, the Yunioshi spirit is strong and he has reinvented drumming from his wheelchair! While he was away for 7 months of spinal rehab we did a few things without him. Our premier Maida Vale session recorded in April as part of BBC Introducing. This was quickly followed by flying to Iceland to play a show in Reykjaviks famous Organ venue. We then played the Introducing stage at the Middle of Nowhere festival. We also had another track used on the telly. Thunderbird was used by Setanta Sports football coverage in December 08. This track will also appear on a compilation released by Lo Recordings / Universal in January 2009 - so look out for that!
Yunioshi 2009: Lets Go!
The plan for this year is simple. Festival gigs please! EP3 will be released with songs about cowboys, drumbeats and badass scuzzy electro! Our live shows will become ultra spectacular events. Our homemade gig cakes will be even nicer. We're gonna aim for even more radio play, more press and bigger gigs. We're gonna be commin attcha like a jack-knife freak-beat!

THE RISING SUN FESTIVAL, DERBY
SATURDAY 7th NOVEMBER. YUNIOSHI go to Derby to play as part of the Rising Sun festival! Its gonna be ace (and possibly a little under rehearsed as Hakushi will just be back from New York by then - his mission to buy a Casio DG-20). We'll be playing in the Old Bell, Sadler Gate - times are up for grabs but visit the website for the latest info. Yunioshi catering Corp will be rustling up a tasty treats for you! We'll have tshirts for sale too! Come along and bring all your mates!

An eclectic mix of found breakbeat samples from the back of dusty cupboards cut out by scissors with round blades and glued together by hooky guitars, old childrens keyboards and whatever odd instruments ebay has on offer that week.
