Yuri's Night is a global celebration of manned spaceflight and space exploration. Held annually on April 12, Yuri's Night commemorates the historic first flight of Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin on April 12, 1961, and the first launch of Space Shuttle Columbia exactly 20 years later.
There are currently 170+ parties planned in various places around the world for Yuri's Night 2008. Find one near you and come celebrate mankind's baby steps away from our Earthly cradle.
Yuri's Night Austin 2008 will be celebrated at Orchid Nightlcub, at 405 East 7th near Trinity in downtown Austin. There will be NO COVER CHARGE, open to age 21 and up.
We'll have a night of electronic music live and spun, live video art, a sci-fi movie mash-up, and some giveaways of cool space stuff we got in the mail.
