Yuvan Shankar Raja, second son of renowned Music Maestro, Illayaraja came to light in 1997 with the film Arvindhan. With very little response, he was booked for a few more films until in 1999 in Vasanth’s Poovellam Kettupaar that struck a romance for Jothika and Suriya. This was the first movie that gave Yuvan a HIT. With films like Thullavatho Illamai, April Maadhathil, Punnagai Poove, Manmadhan, 7G Rainbow Colony & Raam, Yuvan became one of the TOP Music Directors of Tamil Cinema. Yuvan has also rocked the charts in Telugu and Kannada with movies like Raam, Happy & Madana. In 2005, Yuvan won the Filmfare award for BEST MUSIC SCORE for 7G Rainbow Colony directed by Selvaragavan. He also won the Ciff Award for BEST MUSICAL SCORE for Raam in 2006. Future work of Yuvan includes BILLA [Ajithkumar]; Machakaran [Jeevan]; Vel [Suriya]; Vazthukal [Madhavan]; Yaaradi Nee Mohini [Dhanush]; & Kettavan [Simbhu]. Yuvan considers it an honour to live under the shadow of a living legend like Ilayaraja.
