Acting, music and Tivo... um, can TIVO be an interest? :)
Music
My new favorite right now is Sara Bareilles! She's an amazing singer/songwriter and her lyrics just speak to me. You guys have got to hear "Gravity"... it's a song about a person you should probably let go, but for some reason ya just can't. They just keep pulling you in like, well, gravity. Doesn't it just suck when that happens?!!
I also love Lauryn Hill, John Mayer, Jill Scott (her new album is speaking to my SOUL right now!... "You have managed to turn me from a woman of substance into THIS!" Um... Wow!)
Switch, Shalamar, DeBarge, CeCe Winans, India Arie, Kenny Loggins, Black Eyed Peas, Musiq Soulchild, Dazz Band, Billy Joel, The Emotions, New Edition, Fred Hammond ("Pass Me By", "No Weapon" and "Your Steps Are Ordered" will get you through any rough patch you EVER find yourself in, I promise!)
James Taylor, Boyz II Men, Corinne Bailey Ray (LOVE her!), The Jacksons (all of 'em... even Rebbie, and in every form... 3T, anyone?), Hall & Oats, The Dixie Chicks (I feel you, Natalie Maines!)
Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Daryl Black (His music will lead you right to the throne of God!) Mary J. Blige (her new album is LIFE to me right now!), Virtue, Donald Taylor and L.A. Mass (How's that, fellow Godparent?), Yolanda Adams, Chris Brown (Lord knows that boy can dance!), Usher (Confessions is a CLASSIC!), Ray Goodman & Brown (thanks Mom for having good musical taste when I was growing up!) and the list goes on and on and on...
As for the clip below... I love this song and I love American Idol... but I'm also in the audience and you can see me clapping like a happy banshee at the end of the clip. ENJOY! :)
Oh, how I LOVE this Gnarls Barkley video! I know, it's a bit gory, but still... GENIUS! We've ALL been here!
Movies
All About Eve (The BEST movie EVER! And I'm not kidding!)
The Wiz, Princess Bride, It's A Wonderful Life, While You Were Sleeping (I love Sandra Bullock!)
Willy Wonka (the original, people! I love Johnny Depp, but Gene Wilder is the KING!), All the President's Men (Redford & Hoffman are amazing in this movie! I know how it ends, we ALL know how it ends, but it's a ride worth taking over and over!)
What Ever Happened To Baby Jane? (My Lord, I just saw it for the first time a couple of weeks ago... and I'm saddened that it took me that long! "But Blanche, you ARE in that chair!" AWE-some!)
Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid (Redford and Newman when they were FINE... shoot, they're still fine! RIP, Mr. Newman!),
Legends of the Fall (Brad. Brad. Brad. Nothing else needs to be said!)
When Harry Met Sally (friends who realize they are meant to be... such a novel idea), Sixteen Candles (ah, unrequited love that turns out not to be after all... what girl doesn't love that?)
Independence Day (the best movie to have on in the background while you clean...), Hitch (Kevin James and Will Smith should only do movies together!)
The Story of Us (I laughed, I cried, I marveled that anyone EVER gets together... let alone stays together and then by the end, I believed that it was possible after all. Now that's a great movie!)
The Wiz, Mahogany (Best line ever: "Success is nothing, without someone you love to share it with!" So true, SO true!), Lady Sings the Blues (You better do your thang, Miss Ross!)... and too many more to name!
Television
Drake and Josh (of course!), Law & Order (all 57 of 'em), Heroes, Prison Break, The Office, 30 Rock (if you guys haven't been watching, SHAME! It's hilarious!) Friday Night Lights (one of the best dramas on TV, but sadly one of the least watched), CSI:Miami (Two words: Adam Rodriquez. Three more: My. My. MY!) America's Next Top Model, So You Think You Can Dance (love, love, LOVE it!!!)My trio of "guilty pleasures" are Unwrapped (on the food network, tells how every candy and cookie is made... can you say, addictive?!) How It's Made (does the same for every thing-a-ma-jig in your house) and Dirty Jobs (a guy named Mike takes on every job you'd HATE to do... either because they are crazy dangerous or just plain, YUCK! You will love this show, I promise!),
Boston Legal (so naughty it's nice)
Of the new shows from last season, I love Chuck (Zac Levi stars as Chuck and he's so destined for stardom that this is a no brainer... he's also the nicest guy so I couldn't be happier for him), Pushing Daisies (Tim Burton-esque, gotta love that!) and Dirty Sexy Money (a word about DSM, with the exception of Blair Underwood there are no other minorities in major roles on this show. That's a problem for me especially when there are like 57 series regulars... c'mon, that's not right! But it's so dysfunctionally good, I've been watching anyway.)
Books
Right now anything to do with taxes... UGH!!!! Also a Biography on Paul Newman (love him!) and just about every book by Patricia Cornwell.
Heroes
Jesus... for making the ultimate sacrifice for a knucklehead like me, My mom for pretty much the same reason (HA!), my brother for the unrelenting optimism (that I don't even think he knows he has) and Oprah for what's she's built from absolutely nothing...
************************************************************Truly Amazing Story....
A son asked his father, 'Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?'. The father who, despite having a heart condition, says 'Yes'. They went on to complete the marathon together. Father and son went on to join other marathons, the father always saying 'Yes' to his son's request of going through the race together.
One day, the son asked his father, 'Dad, let's join the Ironman together.' To which, his father said 'Yes' too. For those who don't know, Ironman is the toughest triathlon ever. The race encompasses three endurance events of a 2.4 mile (3.86 kilometer) ocean swim, followed by a 112 mile (180.2 kilometer) bike ride, and ending with a 26.2 mile (42.195 kilometer) marathon along the coast of the Big Island . Father and son went on to complete the race together. View this race at.....

About me: Currently, I'm an actress living in L.A. But I was born and raised in East Cleveland, Ohio and proud of it! Ya gotta love the Midwest! :)
Let's see, what else? I'm the baby in my family, but I'm not spoiled... um, at least I don't think I am... dangit, I probably am! :) I'm very close to my mom and my older brother -- who has always been my fiercest protector (seriously, he scares ME sometimes. HA!) I am a freakishly loyal friend... sometimes to my own detriment, who am I kidding, USUALLY to my own detriment. I am a cheerleader (not literally) just in the sense that I love to encourage folks and celebrate their successes... as such, I love a good "praise report", so bring 'em on, people! What else? I'm fiercely competitive... but only while playing board games. Weird, no? I love television to the point of addiction (pray for me!), I'm a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. ("Skee Wee, Sorors!") and I am the best TABOO player on the planet. Yeah, that's right, I said it! :)
Who I'd like to meet: Jesus :) And an awesome guy who's not afraid of commitment... um, to me. ;)
