On August 17, 1976, the YWCA of Wichita opened its doors as a domestic violence women's shelter. Since then, the YWCA Women’s Crisis Center has successfully provided shelter, advocacy, and supportive services to thousands of women and children fleeing violent homes. In addition the YWCA Women's Crisis Center works within the Wichita Community to provide the following services:

I have recently become Vice President of an organization that helps the abused and broken. My picture will be uploaded on the site some time next week along side of the other people. We are currently trying to raise money so this summer all of us survivors can meet somewhere to share our stories, listen to speakers, and enjoy a fun, relaxing, getaway weekend somewhere. During our journey of pain our organization feels it is time to replace that pain with a jump start towards joy and healing. So, we are selling t-shirts and other various items to help this dream become a reality.
