I have many heroes and am consistently in awe of how absolutely great we can be.In this small space, I'd like to celebrate those who embody the Poet Archetype, which every hero owns, in one way or another:The Poet archetype "combines lyricism with sharp insight, finding the essence of beauty and truth not only in the epic affairs of humanity, but also in everyday acts and objects." You know you're expressing the Poet archetype when you are "driven by the need and the ability to discover beauty in the people and things around you, and express it in a way that helps others see that beauty too."
We often think of heroes as those who have waged david+goliath type campaigns against injustice or human limitations. Great leaders, record-breaking athletes, freedom-fighters and artists who have shaped society in profound ways. Heroes are also parents who cook breakfast everyday, co-workers who celebrate each others successes and get each others backs, people who activate compassion and stay curious in the midst of all the challenges the day presents. In any case, a hero's deepest motivation is not the bad guy he faces or the struggle that confronts her, but the passion for life itself. A driving belief that there's something beautiful and precious here, worth pushing the envelope to reveal. Poets...

Who I'd like to meet: I get turned on by people who are openly curious and sincere.
I'm here to connect with people who are actively making meaning, stirring things up, creating, innovating, promoting and empowering. If "I'm bored" is a regular line in your personal movie script, you're not who I'm here to meet.
People I'd like to meetIN THEORY: writers, journalists, editors, agents and poets who honor their craft and calling with crazy discipline and uncompromising love; designers, innovators, tech gurus and empowered visionaries who see life as a series of projects and opportunities pushing them to unfold; artists, photographers, architects, composers, actors, filmmakers and anyone who has the courage to keep re-imagining the world as we know it; healers who live well, doctors and healthcare professionals who fiercely maintain a sensation of awe, scientists and researchers who passionately question everything..
IN THE FLESH: Alfonso Cuaron, Tom Peters, Joao Magueijo, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, Iyanla Vanzant, Baz Luhrmann, Kuki Gallman, Aaron Sorkin, Philippe Starck, James Dyson, Hiroyuki Sanada, Andre Agassi.....
IN MY DREAMS: the original author of Gilgamesh, Rumi, Cochise, Chief Joseph, Mary McLeod Bethune, Frida Kahlo, Sylvia Beach, my father's father, Tony when he was a young boy, my parents before they married..... . .
I just figured out I was standing right next to you at Alwun House the other night and didn't say hello....just slap me in the face with a dead salmon!
