Hailing from Portland, Maine, Zach Jones is an artist of exceptional musical talent. Having toured tirelessly as lead guitarist and backing vocalist for the band As Fast As, Jones has played on stages all over the country opening shows for the likes of Maroon 5, OAR, Butch Walker, INXS and more. Along with his AFA bandmates, Jones has appeared on stage at venues such as; New York's Irving Plaza, Denver's Fillmore Auditorium and San Francisco's Warfield Theater. Jones has also appeared on stage with many of Portland, Maine's other premier acts including: Gypsy Tailwind, Paranoid Social Club, Spencer & The School Spirit Mafia and The Pete Kilpatrick Band.
Over the years, the question which has been proposed to Jones more than any other is:
"When can we start looking forward to a Zach Jones solo project?"
There is finally an answer to that question and the answer is, you can start now. In January of 2009, Jones moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where he eventually wrote and recorded 'Fading Flowers', the new album due out in March of 2010.
Joined by As Fast As band mate Andrew Hodgkins on drums and Portland, ME virtuoso and go to guy Stu Mahan on bass, Jones and co. have cranked out a high energy modern rock & roll record reminiscent of late 70's power-pop and late 60's R&B. It should be noted that the songs available on this myspace page are not those which will be featured on 'Fading Flowers', they are demos made over a period of years gone by. They should however, serve as a guide to give listeners an idea of what is to come. The past is behind us and the future is unwritten. Live in the now but, start looking forward. The best is yet to come.
dude, remember that movie fanboys? we need to do a real life version of that, except our mission is to break into ringo's house and watch his copy of this movie:
