The Zac Mac Band is an up and coming group that is starting to make waves in the music industry.
Inspired by the works of bands like Snow Patrol, Coldplay and the Killers, the Zac Mac Band offers songs with catchy hooks and infectious melodies. The sound of the band can range from dark and moody synth driven ballads to bright and uplifting fast paced alternative rock.
The group is fronted by 6'10" singer/songwriter Zac Mac, who dominates the stage with his extraordinary height. Zac Mac, originally from Maine, is an experienced songwriter whose previous projects include Maine bands North of Nowhere, The High End and Johnny Rainfield.
Lead guitarist Ben Dwyer, formerly of Westgate, captivates audiences with his ambient guitar work. Inspired by the works of Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson and Hendrix, Ben's sound is unique and truly captures the intensity and feeling of each song.
The rhythm section of the band is incredibly tight and punchy, with rock veterans Jeff Bates on bass (Soul Taxi, Furious Norm, Ariel Suite) and Justin Casanave on drums (Soul Taxi, Hot Damn!, The Skeptics, The Eclectics). Together they create infectious grooves that can grab an audience and make them pay attention, or blend into the background and simply make you tap your foot and bob your head.
The band is currently gigging in and around the Boston area, and they are also working hard in the studio on their first full length album. Stay tuned for show dates near you.
