A drummer by trade Zakeria was inspired to move to the front when he started his own band the Funk Army which was on the circut for six years opening for such notables as Living Color, and playing such venues as the Amsterdam Avenue street festival, Eisenhower park, and every notable outdoor festival and club in the city as well as Long Island. Cloud 9 is the first solo project by Zakeria. Zakeria cloud 9 was signed to Mr. Jeff Roberson's New record label Long Island Gospel Sound. He also added his vocals and keyboard work to the music. The CD was produced by Mr. Kevin Harrington who has worked with Freddie Jackson, and Nona Hendrix, just to name a few. With his wife Sheri adding her unique vocal style to the disc and the incomparable guitar playing of Mr. John Willis, along with a host of other talented musicians the music will fill your soul and enrich your spirit with joy.
