Hey Ya'll, Welcome to my MySpace crib!
I'm Zane Lewis. I hope you'll come out to party with us after sampling the tunz and hanging around here in my digital world. I gotta warn you, though. When I'm onstage, I'm an in-your-face guy and I’m all about getting the crowd jacked up and everyone enjoying themselves. So if you're into having fun and forgetting about what drives you crazy, come out and join the party.
One listen to my new album, ZANE LEWIS, will leave no doubt that I love doing what I'm doing — Creating music that makes people "feel" emotion...and then partying a little at the end of the day. Okay, partying a LOT at the end of the day! I'm a sixth-generation Texan born in the West Texas town of Lubbock and raised in Round Rock, once a small town that is now being devoured by Austin. As a kid growing up I got turned onto country music listening to my dad play the fiddle, which later led to me swiping his music collection that ranged from Willie, Waylon and The Eagles to Bob Wills. But like any kid looking to put his own stamp on life, I encountered my share of rock 'n' roll. And anyone who sees my band and I perform live will know that I count Van Halen, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Charlie Daniels, U2 and Elvis among my influences. Yea, that's right. The King. Not to take anything away from the other King, George Strait, by whom I also was highly influenced.
I've been real fortunate to be able to release two Indie albums from here in the Great State of Texas. My first, THIS TOWN (2003), delivered three Texas Music chart hits with "I Hate to See Her Go," "Beer Drinkin’ Women," and the title track which hit 14 in Texas and 50 nationally. But it's my brand new self-titled album, ZANE LEWIS, that's making all the noise lately, landing me in "Country Weekly" magazine twice this summer, and one of my co-writes — "Bad Ass Country Band" — on the Fox TV reality show, Nashville. I put everything I have into this album. I call it my own brand of “fuel-injected country." Look up North and to your right and give some of the tracks a test drive. "Welcome to the Southland" is currently rocking up the Texas and national charts as the second single release now. And check out the video right above this section and post a comment below.
Now you know what you're getting yourself into. If you feel brave enough, come out and party with us at a show!
