Considered a truly historical name of Italian electronic music, Francesco Zappalá (41) has been working as a renowned Dj for over twenty years now. Idolized through means of his charismatic and passionate approach to his work, the Sicilian Dj is considered an utter phenomenon, especially when taking into consideration his legendary successes and triumphs, achieved at the DMC world championships, who offered him the occasion he needed to present an enviable technique, that has never had a chance to fade, despite the amount of time passed since.
Today, Francesco has established himself as a reference figure in relation to the Italian and global electronic scene, seen as how his performances include exhibitions in clubs such as the Pachá, Space and the Amnesia in Ibiza, Spain, as well as a series of apparitions in English, Swiss, Venezuelan and American clubs. Utilizing techno-rave as his starting point through the early nineties, displayed in projects such as Net Runner and R.F.T.R, we transition to the hypno-trance style of Shadow Dancers and Virtual Age, through a series of internationally acclaimed hits such as “I Need You”, “We Gotta Do It” and “No Way Out” and, lastly, the recent Tractorecords project (which Francesco carries on with the help of friends Francesco Passantino and Giosuè Impellizzeri a.k.a Dj Gio MC-505), which deals primarily with the evolution of dance-electronic music, perceived through its intricate and modern branches.
Insatiable and tireless pioneer, refined and prestigious mixing technician, Francesco is undoubtedly one of the first Italians to have presented a live set, with the aid of the revolutionary Ableton Live, with which he is able to create a sound wave completely projected into the future, enriched with chaotic sounds, appeased live, for the appreciators of the electronic sound of the next generation.
