Aaron Diaz's Zappjazz is a live tentet playing the music of veteran Rock, Jazz and Contemporary Classical composer Frank Zappa. Based in Birmingham, the ensemble played its debut gig at the city's 'Yardbird Jazz Club' supporting Henry Lowther and has just recently finished their first self-titled recording. Zappajazz play a varied repertoire of Zappa's compositions whilst also focussing towards improvisatory platforms.

A duo between two of the worlds Free Improvisation/Free Jazz greats! The Pauls have a long association though the incredible improvising quartet Mujician and have played just about everywhere with just about everyone! For me this promises to be one of the outstanding improvisation gigs of 2009!
