Influences
Santana, The Who, Buckwheat Dural, Galindo, Dave Tarras, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Weather Report. We don't sound like them, but we are influenced by their passion for their art and their willingness to forge into uncharted territories. Do we do that? Don't know - but we try.

What band can ever answer this question satisfactorily? Take a listen and then tell us.
Formed in 2003, by guitarist/composer, Gary Santucci, Zarabanda has quickly made a
name for itself in the Hamilton area as a high-energy original acoustic music ensemble.
With influences ranging from Indian music to Mediterranean to flamenco to jazz to rock
and everything in between, the band has an appreciative and loyal fan base that continues to grow.
Gary’s concept was to group instruments together that wouldn’t normally be
associated with each other and then to write music that wouldn’t be associated with
those instruments. Then, he challenged each of the musicians to rethink their instru-
ments to the best of their abilities and to always reach past their “licks”.
The instrumentation is as eclectic as the band’s style: Santucci on classical/flamenco
guitar, Dimitrios Doumas on bouzouki, Michael Moon on South American folk harp,
Jordan Abraham on accordion, Michael Morritti on double bass, and Franz Nangle on
drum kit.
So, what does it sound like? Have a listen and let us know!
Enjoy!
