I'm always a comin' and going for tours and travel and the like, but spend most of my days in my tiny little Brooklyn. I do independent study through Vermont College in Montpelier, just started writing songs, so that's totally awesome, and I love meeting new people and having them over for some home cooking. As for music I've been working on various solo projects and as a hired gun for the studio, arranging and recording background vocals tracks for whomever has the need. When not out and about I spend my days being a vintage hoarding hermit or singing with anyone who might like to hear it.
If you're into that sort of thing please join The Sweetback Sisters mailing list:
thanks chickie...i just listened to your album driving down to the beach today and have been singing all those songs...i had an epiphany that i need to be a writer for strictly sweetback sisters songs....i think good things could come of it.........
Thanks for being our friend - check out the new updates on our website - www.latinplayboys.org. We've added a new video blog and we are featuring some really cool art in the coffee table book. Take a look when you get a chance! And spread the word about site - we'll be showcasing some fantastic visual artists.
I know a great French Crepes place in Williamsburg that you will fall in love with! We should go to dinner there soon! I honestly am addicted to it...!
Zara, it was SO great to see you last night on the West Coast, celebrating your old dad's birthday at the Boat Club! Wish I could see the Sweetback Sisters... or YOU onstage anywhere. I'm your unrepentant fan...
im not sure. i think we were just talking about music and teaching and recognizing talent and she was talking about hearing you sing in fourth grade and recognizing true talent and saying "i dont know what she's going to do with that talent but it is something extremely special. " isnt that nice? cant believe i never told you!
hey zara! thanks for the sweet comment. hope to see you in real life one of these days. i will never forget my old boss (the principal at the school i taught at in noho and i think your fourth grade teacher?) saying how she remembers you singing as a kid and she was blown away by your voice. did i ever tell you that???
look at this international tour! Just about to go down to easthampton and visit betsy at this dive bar she works at, wish you were here in ol' western mass too!
Thanks Zara! Good to hear from you, should we get too drunk to make it back to our practice spot in jersey, we'll keep you in mind. Hope to see you soon.
