One of Britain’s most talented best-kept secrets, Zara McFarlane has not gone totally unnoticed over the years. Her outstanding voice has been used for feature spots, duets and session work by artists, bands and musical directors alike. Now this amazing voice is here to be enjoyed by all at some of the best jazz venues in London.
Always immersed in writing and teaching projects as well as performing live with various bands across the country, Zara has an intriguing concoction of original material- influenced heavily by the traditions of jazz- as well as a mixture of jazz standards infused with her sophisticated style.
Despite her multifaceted talents, showcased in her numerous works encompassing all genres of music; as a lead vocalist, backing vocalist, session performer and guest featured artist, Zara has an affinity to the art of jazz.
Inspired by the sounds of jazz from a young age, Zara attended the Brit School of Performing Arts followed by the London College of Music and went on to became a scholar at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Her colossal talent - based on a wonderfully unique tone accompanied by her sensual vocal command and her ability to improvise fluently and gracefully (not to mention her swing!) - is matched by a sassy demeanor that radiates through every tune she embarks upon.

I'm so almost there with the album, but I'm so sleep-starved I'm starting to do crazy things. This morning I deicied to write a poem featuring the first three things that came into my head: Chocolate cake: Prince, and sleeping in a tent. This is as good as I could get:

A year can you believe it? That brings me to the next beautiful blessing. Organic will be celebrating their 1st Earthday on 2nd December and we would like you all to put this date in your Diary and come see a show to remember with some terrific(Bwoy do people still use that word?....lol)guests, cake, fruit and our usual mayhem. I’m telling you now because you dun know how ram it gets up inside there…RIGHT!!!!!
OK back to the matter at hand the next show will be on 18th November with a Badadaaaaap show lined up. The day has finally come when “Jonas” will be blessing us with a long awaited set, and Da entire Familia is sooooooooo excited, all we can say is “U need to get the album” which will be on sale on the day. We also have 2 Guest by requests this week….well sort of. 1st we have the beautifully blessed, captivating spoken word artist Saran….if u don’t know then u need to ask smoddy right now….lol. Our 2nd guest…(well she’s not really a guest) will be Mandisa from da Familia. She’s been putting it of for the last 6 months but she feels it’s time to put down a set in her own home….lol. SOOOOOOOOOOO Mek your way….Mek your way…..This is gonna be serious so dust off your whistles and fog horns from carnival and Mek your way….Come on
Well we had the back in da day thing. Now we going even deeper and taking it back to basics....Both of our guests this week are just a lil different from da norm. Our guest by request Hayereyah is a gem....not only does he play harmonica, write and sing but he is also spiritually blessed and chats pure positive lyrics. Our Guest by request is also very special he goes by the name of Facto and mixes his Uraba background with his strong influences in Spanish and Rock to create a beautifully unique sound and he is also Mandisa's singing husband....lol so look out for their duet on the night. It's gonna be an acoustic special Y'all.....Can't promise The Shy boys again this week doe....lol
