I like different music according to the season: In the spring, Mirah, Tony Bennet and Chet Baker. In the summer lots of Belle and Sebastian. In the fall Ella Fitzgerald, Elliot Smith. My tastes change a lot. Lots of Louis Armstrong ALL the time...I listen to dreary soundtracks now like Amelie and An Angel at my Table. Oh, and Celtic music.
Movies
I like movies that are brightly colored and smell nice, such as Secretary, Ghost World, and Welcome to the Dollhouse. I think Being John Malchovich is one of the greatest movies ever made, if looked at from the point of view of the genuis of the writer. (How the hell did he come up with that?) My goal is to write things that will make people ask the same question. (How the hell did she come up with that?)
Books
I like to read books in which people ruin thier own lives, so I don't feel so badly about mine...I'm not going to write a huge list of books that I like because that would take too long, and I'm not out to prove how cool I am. I prefer tragedies of all types.
About me: I like bright colors and fresh air. Someday I would like to see the earth from space. I drink a lot of coffee. I like things that smell nice, like honeysuckle, apples and vanilla. Right now I have too much time on my hands, because the evil machine is being dastardly. I like to sleep, sometimes too much.
Who I'd like to meet: Morrissey, so I can punch him in the face. And Howard Schultz, so I can punch him in the face, too.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Funny you say that you want to meet a talking cat...I HAVE a talking cat 8-O (hehehe) How goes that crazy Starbucks? Did ya learn the new coffee machine yet?
Thanks for the add! GUD (pronounced "good") is a print/pdf magazine of 200 pages of genre and literary fiction, poetry, and a splash of art; now on our third issue. :) See our profile for information on reviews, freebies, and submission guidelines!
Good luck with the last haul! You can do it!
I am going to look into getting a ticket for that weekend. I'll let you know soon.
Hooray for Shannon!
