Za Viknom was organized as acoustic duet in 2000 by two school-friends Oleksandr 'Sound' Muzyka and Oleksandr 'Sword' Karmazin.
Oleksandr 'Sound' Muzyka was known as a young single guitar singer while he was taking part in different music and poetry festivals such as Chervona Ruta, Perlyny Sezonu etc. The example of his good friends Oleh Sukharev (
Sami Svoi)), Pavlo Nechytailo (
Propala Hramota), Volodymyr Kuchynskyi (
Vorozhden) etc. showed the way for the another side of his songs. Invitation of Volodymyr Kolenko, Taras Valihura and Denys Verba was enough to make a quite good soft-art-rock band.
Soon after Ukrainian Taras Bulba fest in 2004 Za Viknom performance lost some musicians. Oleksandr 'Sword' Karmazin died in the traffic accident, other boys decided to finish their musical career. Oleksandr 'Sound' Muzyka had to look for other Za Viknom family. Za Viknom has changed a lot of musicians that time and used to perform itself as the acoustic one again.
In 2006 there was another strong stage band found - Oleksandr 'Sound' Muzyka, Artem 'Pjatak' Terekhov (ex - Screams, Dom Keramiky,
Sami Svoi), Mykhailo Hudzenko (ex - Busol, Delia) and Anton 'Prof' Vakulenko. This Za Viknom one began a new page of its history using the help of different friends such as Tetiana Serhichuk-Zolotariova (ex - Chorna Rada, Properganja), Lesia Roi (ex - Bolno Daleko, Teleri, Vij), Roman 'Veter' Savchenko (ex -
Sami Svoi) etc.
