Zealots sound has been compared to Depeche mode, Interpol, Stereo Lab and Wire although it is difficult to pinpoint a direct influence. Theirs is an undeniably unique concoction. Ruth Kennington's angelic vocals drape over soundscapes that can shift from expansively liberating to claustrophobicly paranoid.
The newly rejuvenated quartet have spent the previous year holed up in their rehearsal room, feverishly experimenting with new ideas, combating cabin fever with little but the joy of reinvention and the odd beer.
It was time well spent. The resultant assortment of songs is the strongest that Zealots have ever produced, capturing both vulnerability and bombastic grace in a vice like grip.
ZEALOTS have had rapturous responses from the growing crowds at home and away and are steadily building a loyal fan base. The gigs are intense, energetic, vibrant and above all else loud as fuck!
