After two years of practicing and performing, ZEBEDY RAYS have gained a reputation for being the most exciting new band on the local scene. They have broken from their Worcestershire roots to play gigs all over the country with bands including UNTITLED MUSICAL PROJECT, THE GRAVITY CRISIS, THE ROCKS and AWESOME COLOR .
In August 2007 Zebedy Rays released their debut single ‘Religion’ backed with ‘18 And Wondering’ on The little Hellfire Club label. This year the band released their much anticipated mini-album, "Addictive | Experience".
The lively three-piece have spent the last 18 months touring their brand of raw rock’n’roll all over the UK. Singer/guitarist Adam Hickman struts, jumps and ploughs through songs with explosive energy whilst Josh Powell (drums) and Danny Meigh (bass) hold things together with a skill that surpasses their years.
With endorsement from ‘Playmusic’ magazine, sponsorship by Hughes and Kettner, and coverage on BBC Radio One’s Steve Lamacq Show, Zebedy Rays are shining bright…
WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR MANAGEMENT, IF ANYONE OUT THERE IS INTERESTED PLEASE GET IN TOUCH!!
REVIEWS
"BRILLIANT!" HUW STEVENS BBC RADIO ONE
“Powerful, bluesy rockers, with dextrous guitar playing showing off their high skill rating. Direct and thrashy, sounding like a dirtied-down Strokes… those missing Supergrass will like what they hear.”
SOUNDSXP
"It is obvious that these guys must put on a great show by the sheer energy of these four songs. With Josh Powell's drum work keeping everything perfectly in time and up beat, Danny Meigh's bass lines are as groovy as they come and, when the three combine, they sound like a band that have been together for much longer than they have."
PENNYBLACKMUSIC
"The Zebedy Rays are really worth getting off your arse and going to watch. This EP shows they have all the charm and musical skill to trouble the mainstream with their brand of rock n roll. God knows how they became this good in under a year?"
THE PLASTIC ASHTRAY
"Zebedy Rays play with so much passion and energy they are greeted by their fans like the Second Coming these days.”
POPART DIGEST
“Energetic urgent scratch blues-edged lo-fi wrong pop clatterness that tastes rather like The Fall barking and yelping at the Strokes and demanding throat lozenge shaped attention.”
ORGAN MAGAZINE
“Kings of Leon in a drinking contest with Pharoah Sanders and the Fall!”
SOUNDSXP
"Zebedy Rays are one seriously hot prospect."
RHYTHM & BOOZE MAGAZINE
"These boys are a tight, energetic three piece... great stuff."
NIGEL CLARKE, DODGY
"With a sound not unlike The Strokes hanging out with The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion at a Fall gig."
PLAYMUSIC MAGAZINE
Fanbloodytastic - breathtaking, octane fuelled, 'raw rock'n'roll' from this incredible young trio. Rammed with raw energy, overflowin' with originality and burstin' with potential. Zebedy Rays take contemporary rock'n'roll by the scruff of the neck, turn it upside down, kick it way into touch and run rampant with whatever's left!!
