Bicycle Sighs, My Cellphone Is Better Than Your Cellphone, Milton William Cooper (May 6, 1943 - November 5, 2001) was an American writer and shortwave broadcaster. Cooper came to public awareness in the late 1980s. The son of a U.S. Air Force officer, Bill graduated in 1961 from Yamato High School in Japan, and enlisted in the U.S. Air force. He was honorably discharged in 1965, and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in December of that year. He served in Vietnam, rising to the rank of petty officer. Cooper was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal with combat V and the Navy Achievement Medal with combat V. He was honorably discharged in 1975. "When I saw Operation Majority while serving in the Navy I believed the alien threat was real just like everyone else. It was not until I had performed many years of research that I was able to fully understand exactly what it was that I had seen. It was extremely difficult for me to believe that my government and the United States Navy had used me, especially since I had dedicated my life to government and military service". By 1998 Cooper was living in Arizona. There was a warrant for his arrest due to claims by a local doctor that Cooper made threatening actions when the doctor was loitering near Cooper's home. Cooper said he would meet with armed resistance any attempt to execute what he saw as "unlawful warrants." Later a warrant was issued for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, following a dispute with a local man who was stalking Cooper. According to Commander X, in March 1999 Cooper sent his family out of the United States for their security. He lived and worked alone with his two dogs, one rooster, and one chicken until his death in 2001. In July and September 2001, Cooper was accused of using a handgun to threaten a loiterer near his home in Eagar, Arizona. On 5 November 2001, officers of the Apache County Sheriff's Office lured him from his house by posing as civilians. In 1999 I started recording solo albums on my 4 track. The first 3 were released on tape and were called, IO, ARRAKIS, and TRITON respectively. This was a trilogy about moons and planets, 2 real, 1 fictitious. I recorded one more album on tape, around this same time period, which is a secret recording to be released after my death. IO was released in 2000, ARRAKIS was released in 2002 and Triton was released in 2003. These recordings are extremely rare, If you own one consider yourself fortunate.
My first CD release was Estotiland. This album was a huge step forward in my career. Estotiland is the 16th century name for NewFoundland or Vinland if you like. I rehearsed the material for 18 months before recording it, and the result was the most serious METAL I've ever put together. This was also the first time I used one of my paintings (One night an island is born), for my album cover. Hip Hop artist Blitz (Sheldon Gray) recorded it at his Quantum studio laboratory in October 2004, with style and class. Photos and graphic art were done by combat photographer Sergeant Dan Yarnall, the most compitent man in his field.
My second CD release was She is forever burning, She is life. SIFBSIL was an intense concept album, bringing to the forefront my new experimental leanings during the summer of 2006. The story behind the album was focused on Mother Earth's disgust with the human race. From begining to end the lyrics are one continuous story of Gaia's creation of a new island off the Skeleton coast of Namibia. Reactions to the new sound were mixed, as it was much more ARTSY then Estotiland. A.J. Orvis Engineered the album at my own Zond studios, capturing with precision the vision I had perceived. I used another oil painting of mine for the album cover (The cave), and my painting (A beauty unknown), as the artwork for the back of the album. Once again Photography and graphic design were done by the master, Dan Yarnall.
My third CD release was called Pulsar or Entering the gravitational whirlpool of a Neutron star (you decide which you like best, it really has 2 names). This is an electronic noise recording of a space satellite being sucked into a huge ball bearing in the Crab nebula (Neutron stars are made of pure METAL, or so it's theorized). This album was released on Vagotonia Records in based out of Bozeman in December 2007. It was the labels fifth release, and my seventh solo album (six released).
After this voyage into the unknown territories of Ambient/Noise music, I released my first of many splits with the experimental band Conduit in January 2008. It is a very unique split, which so far has gone completely unnoticed. I would encourage any of my loyal fans to sink their teeth into this morbidly strange concoction!
Between January and March 2008 I recorded 3 new solo albums: He who knows he doesn't know, KNOWS!, D'nekeew, and The Blood Album. HHWKHDK became my personal mantra after this albums release, D'nekeew is seriously deranged, and The Blood Album cost me ounces of precious bodily fluids I will never get back! All 3 of these albums are extremely experimental, and were released on cassette.
My split with Tomhet was a joint release by Kapustin Yar and Gelid Glacier Records. Check out Tomhet on myspace to be truly inspired, and mystified. My first extreme metal offering, Thjoviljinn vs. Visir, was released in April 2008 by Gelid Glacier Records, and is one of the defining recordings of my career. TVV contains 10 minutes worth of samples from a secret society ritual at Bohemian Grove. My album Cavernous Quiet was released in July of 2008 on Kapustin Yar Records. This is a very experimental metal offering with a wide variety of instruments, and recording techniques, utilized for an otherworldly sonic experience. All of the artwork for CQ is individually hand made by me, Rachid Abdel Ghafour! Issyk Kul was released on September 17, 2008, on Kapustin Yar Records, and is an electronic, noise, extreme metal, avant garde album. It is a concept album based on the legends associated with Lake Issyk Kul in Kyrgyzstan. This release is only for the truly open minded experimental metal heads out there! On September 27, 2008 my splits with Hopeless and Bethroned were released. Spain's Hopeless shall torture you with a barrage of sick songs, designed to push you over the edge into madness. Croatia's Bethroned will have you screaming "SLAVA!!!!!!" into the winter winds! Giving in to the black featureless void was released on October 25th, 2008. This SUPER limited full length cassette is comprised of layered space synthesizer tones, psychedelic clean guitar parts, and hypnotic vocal chants. Only 20 hand numbered copies will be made, and each will come with a hand drawn, autographed, mini poster so order now while they are still available! The SARGAGANTAS / Zebulon Kosted split was released November 8th, 2008. This is dark and mysterious Blacknoise from both parties involved, capable of imbibing the listener with the power of astral projection through listening to our high art! Order this piece of history from KYR!!! The Al Qaeda / Zebulon Kosted split was self released by AQ on December 1st, 2008, and sold out in 36 hours!!! We may reissue this as a CDr version in the future, keep your eyes and ears open! The (((o))) / Zebulon Kosted split was released December 7th, 2008, by KYR. A truly individual masterpiece, one listen will change your life forever! The All the Cold / Zebulon Kosted split was released December 18th, 2008 on Nokturnal Transmissions Records. This is some of the darkest, frigid, and most intense metal you will ever experience. The Neuschwabenland DVD was released on January 17th, 2009. This film includes the only live performances of the songs "North" and "Neuschwabenland", as well as music videos for "...Towards the Wilderness" and "Give the Insects Lust Voluptuous". This DVD was made possible by the hard work of my close friend Staff Sergeant Dan Yarnall. With 5 times the fury of a 555 pound man throwing 55 pound barbells at your head, the Artektronic / Zebulon Kosted collaboration "5" was released on February 5th, 2009 by Kapustin Yar Records. This 55 minute and 55 second recording is the same kind of numerology that makes otherwise sane people drill holes in their head after falling under its spell. Limited to 55 copies this album is sure to sell out by May 5th! The NOIZEBULON BOX SET was released by Kapustin Yar Records on March 2nd, 2009. Strange and bewildering, exotic and terrifying......yes, Rachid Abdel Ghafour has struck again! An album of layered Synthesizer, an album of layered Keyboard, an album of layered Drum Machines, an album of layered Vocals, and of course, the album with all 15 tracks from the first 4 CDs layered on top of each other. Dragons Blood - Die Nibelungen Part One, was released on April 1st, 2009 by Kapustin Yar Records. This is the new sound of the old world. Equal parts Metal, Dark Ambient, and Acoustic Folk music will take you on a journey to the darkest of forests. The first part of this epic trilogy is complete, Dragons Blood is dedicated to the German people. The Norss / Tomhet / Zebulon Kosted 3 way split was released by Gelid Glacier Records on April 20th, 2009. This Split showcases the Dark Ambient / Drone Doom defiance of all 3 bands, and has the ability to induce a permanent trance from which the listener may never recover! Through the fog of life was released by KYR on April 22nd, 2009. This is a 47 minute long psychedelic trip into the realms of dark space drone ambiance with bleak spoken word poetry, acoustic guitar interludes, and obscure but fascinating samples. These classifications only brush the surface of the fate that awaits the wanderers caught in its mystical web. All artwork for each copy will be individually hand drawn by the Shaman of the fog, Rachid Abdel Ghafour! The Terre and Neige / Zebulon Kosted split was released by Black Noise Records on May 1st, 2009. This is some of the most experimental material from both bands to date, and considering both groups are comprised of super freaks, thats saying a lot! Then there was the E.A.R.S. / Zebulon Kosted split, released May 5th by Deathforce Records, an intense and startling creation from a Greek band and label. My heads still ringing from the freak weirdness contained in this monster of a release! From May 22nd through May 31st 2009 I toured the West Coast of the United States, playing 10 shows in 10 days. I would like to thank all of the clubs, promoters, bands and fans for making this possible. A one man band touring in a 1991 Oldsmobile is not easy, but I was helped out along the way by many generous people who I am forever indebted to. June 20th, 2009 marked the release of the Skirr / Zebulon Kosted Split as a joint effort by Black Pyramid Records in the United Kingdom and Kapustin Yar Records. This is the future of Noizzzambientavvvanterrrorrr. Love, Immolation, Dylan Smith was released on July 7th, 2009 by KYR. Mr. Smith wrote all of the lyrics to this release, a first in the history of Z.K. This is some Avant Garde insanity for people who wish they were being haunted by dead loved ones ghosts, but in reality are not. On July 31st, 2009 HIGH ABOVE THE HORIZON was unleashed upon the world by KYR. Experimental vocal walls of sound, mind bending acoustic guitar work, and crunchy distorted bass riffs accent the power electronics which will slowly kill you. The Blood Album Part 2 was released on August 10th, 2009 by KYR. This album showcases a new approach to Dark Ambient / Noise pieces that I am developing, with throat singing and ghostly vocals added to the mix. This is a must for fans of my more Experimental work. August 17th, 2009 started with an ominous foreboding for those who were aware of the Arcane Asylum / Zebulon Kosted Split. We were all quite afraid of what kind of damage this recording would do to those who are unworthy. This destruction is available from Ziekte NL, a quality Dutch label. August 21st, 2009, was marked by the release of the Acrybia(Poland) / Zebulon Kosted Split for free download on Thesperate Records(Poland). Expect only the most frightening of Dark Industrial Power from both bands, capable of causing brain damage with its crushing vibrations. On August 23rd, 2009 Novaya Zemlya was released by Haute Magie Records. This is Dark Arctic Noizzz for cold dreary nights. The Zarach Baal Tharagh / Zebulon Kosted Split was released August 24th on Kapustin Yar. Z.B.T. plays insanely intense Black Metal that will rip your face off, while the 22 minute Z.K. track features Crusty Noizz Metal filth! The DVD, Live at Yayos in Las Vegas, May 30th 2009, first caused pain to false prophets on September 1st, 2009, revealed in infamy by Clovenhoof Productions. The 9th show of the Zebulon Kosted 2009 West Coast Tour finds a one man act capable of clearing a dance floor, and enlightening the chosen ones. Unleashed upon the public on September 17th, 2009, the Crawfish 81 / Zebulon Kosted Split is harsh noise, nothing more...nothing less. It will damage your eardrums, or we haven't done our job correctly. Enlil - Live in Sumeria 9/19/09 was released on Kapustin Yar Records on September 20th, 2009. This is a 23 minute ritual on white topped CDr with hand drawn artwork for a ridiculously low price. The ODESSA BOX SET was released on October 7th, 2009 by Kapustin Yar Records. This 3 Cassette Set chronicles American involvement in the Fourth Reich, all other information is classified. November 11th, 2009, marked the 10 year anniversary of Zebulon Kosted, and to commemorate this occasion Ten Years in Space Parts 1 and 2 were released by Kapustin Yar Records. Part 1 features the best Metal songs by Z.K., and part 2 features the best Experimental songs. These are important albums to own for any long time fan, or person who is curious about the band. Hashasheen Part 4 was released on November 17th, 2009 by Death Worm Records. This superbly unconventional album features more experimental expression and intense aggression with a focus on assassination. Death of a Hero - Die Nibelungen Part Two was released on December 12th, 2009 by Satanica Records in New Zealand. An album that stands on its own, but compliments the trilogy with a dark second installment, this is a very important release for Z.K., and will be bring new glory to the German people! Split Cassettes involving Wrzesien, Redsk and Woven were released on December 18th, 2009. Wrzesien plays masterful Dark Ambient, Redsk brings the harsh NOIZZZ, Woven slays the betrayers, and Mr. Ghafour folds space. All of these Splits are limited to 100 copies on Kapustin Yar Records! In July 2009 I began releasing commissioned albums for individuals, The Persona Series, at the price of $10 per addition.
