   About Zed Brookes

I've rediscovered my roots in electronic music lately after flirting with rock-pop for quite a while.

My background has been in various bands going back to the 80's. I have previously been a founding member of such bands as Step Chant Unit, Schrodinger's Cat, Wonderbug and DMZ.

I'm originally a bass-player but nowadays mostly play synth, drums on a midi keyboard, wild and weird guitar, and percussion.

I particularly enjoy sequencers - there's something cool about being able to hold a drink in one hand and play keys with the other ;o)

Thanks for taking the time Zed. Yep the ooooooold chestnuts. A tambourine is an honourable weapon my son. Requires subtlety, wrist and timing. Good on ya!. Have digitalized some 'Desperate Chaps' namely "Wipe Out" and "Surfin' Hamilton" which get played in the company of the Neil album you did. So, am looking foreward to your new album - keep us posted on that.

Sprocket Man - 'Lift Off!' - 1975ish

Hi Zed
Just to let you know have uploaded a couple more tunes (one, a Jam renamed '20-20 Street' -  - a performance of the original idea thingy from which sprung the Jim and Joe tune 'Place To hang His Hat' that Pagan recorded a hundred years ago) - hardly recognizable outside of the lyrics. TC, Alex Deans and Steve Watkins do the business. Also 'Bloody Magic' from Joe's  with all the bells and whistles attached - players are mentioned in the profile. Oh yeah 'zEN aT rEX's - Walk This Earth' a Cher Jam with the usual neferii and supects.

Hope things is good.

What's new in your neck of the expanding universe?

Best of Regards
Jim

Yeah, moved to Auckland to help move the band forward.
Things are progressing. We have a new singer and we're getting
positive feedback from live shows.
So your still lecturing and producing and living on the Shore,
It's all a bit idyllic. It's good to hear and better than living in a Radiostation.
Be great to catch up sometime soon.
Cheers
Ashley
