About Zeitgeist

Zeitgeist is born of the desire to help create more collective conditions within the New York music and arts community. To this end we see Zeitgeist as an artist run vehicle encouraging collaboration among musicians and other artists participating. While the focus will primarily be on music, some events will include participants from visual arts, fashion design, comedy and performing arts.

Zeitgeist is the brain child of Sarah Mucho and Kurt Leege of the Brooklyn-based rock band System Noise. Both Kurt and Sarah are veterans of the New York music scene. Sarah has been a fixture in the piano bar and cabaret circuits since 2000 and Kurt has made his way through the rock, jazz and theater circuits since 1994. They got together to form System Noise in 2003 along with drummer Paul Pouthier as an overt attempt to transcend the genre boundaries dividing most contemporary music. Drawing on diverse and accomplished musical backgrounds, the three and their accompanying musicians over the years have developed a version of cross-genre rock unlike anything on the scene today. Taking a similar tack Kurt and Sarah have now teamed up for Zeitgeist in order to try to bring together artistic pursuits in the city and craft multimedia events where artists in many trades can cross-pollinate creativity.

Now with the help of like-minded friends such as Jessica Kruskamp and Alan Young, they are determined to deliver amazing events that are not to be missed.
