EVERYTHING
Neye Benziyor?
When you wake up in the middle of the night and are holding onto that dream that is slowly slipping away.
Getting drunk with your best friends.
Pink Floyd , The Beatles and David Bowie making babies.
Everything that makes you get up and dance with that beautiful person that you've been sharing glances with all night....and then having sex with them.
Formed in the summer of 2006 in small town Vancouver Island, Zela’s Hype came to be against it all. Front man Matthew Cayer had just moved back home from Toronto where he had a good run as a DJ around the city, but soon decided that he needed the west coast vibe back in his blood. Always being a driven and passionate musician, singer and song writer, Matty was not ready to call it quits.
Matt’s younger brother Mike, barely 18 at the time, was the first of the 3 that he would gather. Wanting to play music for music’s sake more than anything else, it was apparent that Mike was a natural on the drum kit, instantly picking up the craft like a pro.
While at work one day at the local restaurant, the two of them met a young guitarist named Keegan Metheringham, who happened to be their boss’ son. Naturally, they all wanted to get out of the cooking business, so they joined their “true skills” together, and so the HYPE began to build.
A latter addition to the band was Brian Templeman, whom Matty was attending jazz school with, not only was he a shredder on the guitar, Brian was playing the bass with skills that seemed limitless.....he was in. Along with Brian’s small recording studio, the boys began to create music that would soon become the signature sound of ZELA’s HYPE: an upbeat, psychedelic, get off your ass and dance until the night is over....or until you pass out!
Their latest album, “4 Burners On” took them across Canada all the way to the music city of Halifax, playing in all the major Canadian cities, including: Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, and Montreal.
The boys of Zela’s Hype have shared the stage with many amazing local bands, some of which are: The Luna Riot, Scatterheart and The Whiteboard Project.
Come see what the HYPE is all about. You will be forever under their spell.
Hey. My friend Emily and I enjoyed your show and I wanted to talk to you guys afterwards, but you were so busy to talk to your fans(?) and I lost the chance to talk to you. Next time, I hope there is a time to talk to you. Great shows but there must have been some technical difficulties during the show at malone's. Keep up the good work!!! Rock on! Cheers! MIJIN
Hey - Thanks for the friendship. It’s appreciated. There are wars taking place in every country in the world … some are just more obvious. I have just released my new video and song “Simpler Time”. I hope you’ll pass it along. Reach out and make a difference - the ripple will be felt around the world. It has to come from within each of us. We can make a difference. Wisdom!
