Before I die, I want to roadtrip it to all 50 states...and fly to the ones I can't visit by wheel. My fantasy vacations? Hawaii and Niagara Falls (update: My lovely boyfriend took me to Niagara Sept. 08)...and I would like to return to Sedona, AZ some day.
Movies
I like comedies, great dramas, documentaries and indie flicks: Shawshank Redemption, Seven Years in Tibet, anything by Ed Burns, almost anything with John Cusack or Paul Rudd in it, romantic comedies with Jennifer Aniston, When Harry met Sally, Swingers, Forrest Gump....so many more...
Television
I have a Seinfeld shrine in my bookcase, complete with a miniature puffy shirt. That was the best TV show ever.
My TV-Shows-on-DVD collection consists of titles like Sex and the City, Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond, Twilight Zone, Quantum Leap, From the Earth to the Moon, Weird U.S...................
Books
Just finished Steve Almond's Candy Freak. I finally finished The Emperors of Chocolate. I then listened to The Last Lecture (excellent) and The Seven Levels of Intimacy (excellent) and TRIED to listen to Twinkies Deconstructed but it was SO BORING! Now, I am taking a break.....

I am spiritual but not religious. I strive for a certain balance in my life. I'm not always successful but I consistently work at it.
I try to stay positive even when things are looking pretty bleak. I keep the toxic people in my life to a minimum and surround myself with quality people...that seems to be working for me. I am enjoying life a lot these days.
Who I'd like to meet: I am generally drawn to artistic (writers, actors, musicians, etc...), calm and/or spiritual people who also have a funny side. Interesting and friendly people are welcome into my life as well.
I like people who are a little different from me so that we can learn from each other and expose each other to new things.

I did it! I'm done! Finished! I just turned in my last paper for my last class and I am completely done with school! Earned my Master's Degree and I am done!
LOL, just needed to share! I hope everything is good with you. Sorry I've been MIA lately. I still have a lot on my plate, but now that I am done with school, maybe I'll actually have a chance to chat once in a while!
Hope you had a great weekend! Talk to you soon! ~ Melanie
Happy New Year! Sorry I've been so out of touch. Not only have I been working like a fiend to finish my Masters Degree (my last class ends Jan 14th) and working on writing book 4 for my Almost Human vampire series on Amazon's Kindle, to top it off I spent the other day in the ER because i put my back out!
Long-story-short, I tried to lift something heavy and popped out my herniated disc even worse than it was already. It felt like I was shot, and after crumpling to the floor I couldn't even move.
Off to spend a day in agony in the ER. Hurray for percoset and muscle relaxants (when they finally forked them over 4 hours later). After much time in bed and many doses of meds, I can hobble around the house again.
Anyway... that's the update. I hope you have a safe, happy, healthy new year! Talk to you in February when I have time to breathe again!
Conor and I do kind of speak in code a lot. LOL! At first it was out of necessity, but now it's just out of habit. If you want to know, I'll be happy to translate.
