    ♥[Coquettish]♥'s Interests
GeneralI have a better idea for this section:
Fetishes: Bwa ha ha, we all knew this section was coming eventually. A shoutout to all my obsessions:
^-- First and foremost, we have t3h panda, a large asian mammal known for its love of bamboo and occasional association with transgendered individuals (if you're a Ranma 1/2 fan). Need I explain why I love it so?
^-- Next we have the Hitachiin twins from the above-mentioned Ouran High School Host Club. I have only this to say: Hitachiincest is best.
^-- My car! Definitely worth a mention in my list of fetishes. Oh how I adore thee, Lou Moses Stackopotamus. And yes, the license plate says Zenny XD.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Green tea is cancer!defying love
made by ..grey_meets_gold
^-- Made for me by my darling friend Heidi-chan. She understands my caffeine needs so well.

Hikari + Karou are devilishly love.
^-- As previously stated, Hitachiincest is best.
^-- Sen and Sword from a little-known Yaoi manga called UnderGrand Hotel. Perfect proof that yellow and chocolate cake are best when together. This is more of a shoutout to interacial relationships than anything else. I'm all for them.
^-- Hm...how many fetishes does this tick off at once? Let's see: men in tight clothing, men in leather, men with sexy tattoos, men with other men, men with long hair, men that look like women, men with pale skin...men in general. Let's go with that.
^-- I love anime conventions....
Heroes: Anyone who can manage to live in this world without coming to hate half or more of it. Try to think about things in a different way if you can. It's amazing what happens when you invert the colors.

Interests vs. Fetishes. They're practically the same thing anyways.
MusicMusic: MSI live at Projekt Revolution 2007: Dear lawd, is there ever some crappy music out there these days. BUT I AM AN OPTIMIST BY NATURE, so I'm going to try and stick to the good stuff. Here's a basic rundown of people/bands/songs you should be aware of: ^-- Utada Hikaru. Worship her bilingual self.
^-- I consider Evanescence the band that began my interest in music. Fallen was the first CD I ever bought with my own money, and Amy Lee's operatic style won me over faster than any band has done to date. I still listen to them (not as avidly as before, albeit, but they are one of my top bands).
^-- Within Temptation is yet another band with a female frontman (woman?) and an operatic/haunting style of music. I guess you could call this my genre. They're also a foreign band, which is something else that interests me. I highly recommend Silent Force above all their other albums. It's where you'll find the current video in my profile.
^-- And now we move on to Fly Leaf, who I really got into when I saw them live at the Family Values tour last year. Awesome style, awesome lyrics, and lots of energy. I'm excited to see what they do next.
^-- Back on the subject of foreign bands, we have The Rasmus, hailing from Finland. I credit Christy for introducing me to this band with an awesome video called "In the Shadows" version three with the crazy mirrors. The band has a pretty cool sound, and lyrics that are surprisingly in English, at least as far as Dead Letters is concerned. I'm even told they had a radio single once upon a time...and they're coming out with a new album in America. My joy knows no bounds.
^-- Back to American music, we have Shinedown. Not really certain why this band gets to me so, but it sure does. Sit me down with one of their albums for a few hours and I'm set.
^-- And now we take two steps back: we have a female lead singer and another foreign band. Ha, I sense a pattern ^^. Well, if you ever happen to be listening to Vinland Saga by this particular band (Leaves Eyes), I suggest you go to track four and listen to some crazy language that I'm yet to identify. All I know is I like it better than English, this band has great sound, and I hope they stick around.
^-- Don't ask me why I like Papa Roach as much as I do. This band has crazy amounts of passion coupled with lyrics that are just interesting enough to capture my attention. And so my affection is won and held (not so much for their first two albums, but definitely for their second two.)
^-- Speaking of liking a band's new sound, I present to thee, Breaking Benjamin. I wasn't so fond of them in the beginning, but now I'm getting into it. It also helps that I took a closer look at the video for "So cold" and finally noticed all the religious imagery (the baptismal pool, the man carrying his own cross, the woman and the serpent...)
^-- .hack//sign was what first alerted me to the musical mastery that is Yuki Kajiura. Her voice is amazing, her bilingual talent is quite impressive, and her writing is more poetry than song. I highly recommend her.
^-- It's a funny story how I came to like the band Disturbed about a year or two ago. I happened to hear their new single off of Ten Thousand Fists called "Striken" long before the album itself came out. In my diehard love for this one song, I went immediately to Best Buy and tried to buy the CD it was on (which was, as I said before, impossible, since the album hadn't been released yet). I ended up buying their album The Sickness, because it had a song on it called "Stupefy", which I mistook for "Striken" because of their similar sound. Turns out, I loved The Sickness even without Striken. I went back to Best Buy within a week, bought all of Disturbed's albums, and impatiently waited for the release of Ten Thousand Fists.
^-- And finally we get into the really interesting stuff. This is a band that I actually encountered somewhere around April 19th, 2007 (a few days from this current update to my profile). I was at work, as per usual, at the mall, and I happened to hear the very loud sound of guitars and drums off in the distance. So I left my job like the faithful employee I am and went exploring. What I found was a band playing in FYE by the name of Raposo, from New York, and very, very new to the music scene. They were selling copies of their CD for $5, and from what they played while I was there, I decided I really liked their sound. That, and when they were finished and I was getting them to sign the CD I bought, I discovered that these guys (their drummer, Lou, in particular, who can be seen third from the left in their above picture) have awesome personalities and stage presence. You should see the pic I have of Lou on my phone. I've never seen a man give such a thoroughly goofy-cute smile before. And thusly I'm a Raposo fan long before their first major gig. Maybe they'll be uber famous some day and that $5 CD I bought will be worth a hella-lot more.
^-- More bands may be added later, but for now I have only this to say: GROPE!!11111!!!one!!!!!!!
MoviesMovies: My fav. movies are as follows:

TelevisionMyself?
BooksLiterary Interests (Books/Manga/Poets/Other): There are far too many good poems/poets out there, so I'll draw your attention to two in particular:
^-- Sara Teasdale, who wrote "There will come soft rains". My favorite lines from that poem: "And none would know of the war, not one, would care at last when it was done. And none would care, neither bird nor tree, if mankind perished utterly. And even Spring when she woke at dawn would scarcely know that we were gone."
^-- Christina Rossetti, who wrote "Daughters of Eve".
A fool I was to sleep at noon and wake when night was chilly. Beneath the comfortless cold moon, a fool to pluck my rose too soon, a fool to snap my lily. My garden plot I had not kept, faded and all-forsaken. I weep as I have never wept, Oh, it was summer when I slept. It's winter now I waken. Talk what you will of future spring and sun-warmed sweet tomorrow. Stripp'd bare of hope and everything. No more to laugh, no more to sing. I sit alone with sorrow.
Same as with poets, there are far too many good books, so here are my two most notables, my favorite book as a child and my current favorite:
^-- Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine. A story of a fiery young maiden cursed with a foolish fairy's gift. Mayhem ensues; a retelling of our classic Cinderella, but much better than all those other retellings.
^-- Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. A fascinating look at the emotional ties humans have to each other and the inner workings of society. Not to mention a perfect example of why the creation of a utopian society is a more than merely futile pursuit.
Next we have Manga/Anime, the former being my preference since you have more time to admire the artwork:
^-- I don't think there's anyone within a five-mile radius of me who isn't aware of my fervent adoration for Death Note, the popular manga/anime turned motion picture extravaganza. Whoever said every good story needs a good romance deserves to have a shinigami shoved up their ass.
^-- I LOVE OURAN HOST CLUB LIKE I LOVE PANDAS, and if you've seen my layout, you know that's saying something. The story is hilarious, the characters are amazing, Hitachiincest rocks my world, it makes an awesome cosplay, and for once there is a female anime character that doesn't make me grit my teeth everytime she speaks. I've never met such a throughly genderless character as Haruhi before, and I must say I adore her for it. We need more women like her in anime.
^-- Yet another manga with an odd female lead. This one in particular is a horror-movie buff, just like me, though I can't say I make friends with skeletons like she does. Toss in four drool-worthy male lead characters, some insane plot twists, and a J-rock style wardrobe, and you've got something worth reading.
^-- While "les Bijoux" is a decent manga series, I'm more including this to point out the creator than the story itself. Note the breath-taking artwork and you'll understand what I mean. Every story by this particular manga-ka is like that. Stunningly gorgeous, as Korean manga often is. Other works by her include Tarot Cafe and Arc Angels.
^-- I was first turned onto this amazing gothic-horror tale by Shoujo Beat (see below), and I've stuck with it ever since. This is one of few manga that actually makes me think about a story and possibly reread it a few times before I fully understand everything in it. The Victorian-England style settings, elaborate clothing, and beautiful characters mixed with haunting tales of murder, hatred, and melancholy make for a eerie-beautiful story.
^-- And finally we have my favorite magazine, Shoujo Beat. It comes out on the first Tuesday of every month and contains within it six different series, which I'd list if they didn't change so often. Stories featured in the past include Godchild (one of my favorites), Absolute Boyfriend, Backstage Prince (which ended in the last episode and was replaced by Dream Shoppe), Vampire Knights, Crimson Hero, Nana, and others. They also include sneak peeks at up-coming manga, interviews with rock stars from the Japanese music scene, fan art by writers like us, lessons in Japanese slang + pop culture, and much more.

Random Brutal Love Dreamer (RBLD)

The Wild Rose

shmolorful, but unpicked. You are The Wild Rose.

Prone to bouts of cynicism, sarcasm, and thorns, you excite a certain kind of man. Hoping to gather you up, he flirts and winks and asks you out, ultimately professing his love. Then you make him bleed. Why? Because you're the rare, independent, self-sufficient kind of woman who does want love, but not from a weakling.

You don't seem to take yourself too seriously, and that's refreshing. You aren't uptight; you don't over-plan. Romance-wise, sex isn't a top priority--a true relationship would be preferable. For your age, you haven't had a lot of bonafide love experience, though, and this kind of gets to core of the issue. You're very selective.

The problem is them, not you, right? You have lofty standards that few measure up to. You're out there all right, but not to be picked up by just anyone.

Your exact female opposite:
