| About Zenopede |
This
page contains all the lies, half truths and propaganda bullshit that surrounds Zenopede.
Remember, everything you know
is wrong.
Should I speak the truth? Who would
hear amongst the static.
Some band history is riddled with
inaccuracies, falsehoods and the most amazing lies. Zenopede started as an idea back in
1994. We wanted to hear ourselves on the John Peel show on Radio 1. We did a tape and made
a few copies to send to people and distribute locally. It should have ended there, but
some conspiracies just won't lay down.....

The Government denies all
knowledge..... |
'The director just
said to run the film, No one told me we weren't gona do that scene!' |
| Most bands suffer changes in
personnel. Zenopede is no exception. The reasons are many and varied. Some people came for
a tryout and sucked badly. Guitar heroes with blonde perms we know where you live. Other
people found they couldn't connect with the evolving plan. 'I said cut! Okay. Bring in the
stunt drummer.' |

| Good drummers are impossible to find. This is a
fact. Its especially bad in a university town like this one. The transience of the
population and the fact no-one brings their kit for fear of getting it nicked and the
difficulty of moving it around. You get the idea. We started using machines. We make no apologies
for this. Why should We? The machines always turn up to practice and never make any
mistakes. Also, in the interests of community harmony, they have volume controls. |

| All of this has had an effect on the sound. Lets
face it, who wants to be like NIN or Marilyn Manson. They play their games, we play ours.
It all started nice and sensibly sounding like guitar based industrial noise.
Then it developed weird noises and a funky beat. You could call it ambient dub, you could
call it darkwave. [Anyone for ambient goth?]. It's been called Dark Hop in some quarters. We don't care. We live in Wales with a
million guitar playing wannbes. Zenopede is the most different thing in this god
forsaken place, it stops us from going mad... |
We are,
We exist,
and we're not going away... |
