Works with lo-fi electro-acoustic material:
diverted machines, amplified objects, contact mics, tapes, no-fi field recordings, no input mixing board. The sound textures he develops go from harsh noise to musique concrète, depending on the projects and the collaborators.
He works and has worked with Toshihiro Koike, Michael Zerang, Axel Dorner, Mazen Kerbaj, Jakob Riis, Annette Krebs, Mathias Van Eecloo, Frederic Le Junter, Pascal Battus...
Member of the MILL collective (lebanon) and of the lebanese ensemble Al Moukhtabar. His current projects also include dance and photo collaborations Basile Ferriot (fra) Amplified percussions, electronics
Self taught drummer from Nantes, France, Basile Ferriot has been involved with improvised music since 1998. He delivers an arid and minimal music from a small set of percussions (custom snare drum, cymbal, metals and other objects), amplified and sampled live, influenced by industrial, noise and musique concrete as well as the recent reductionnist approaches in improvised music. He has participated in many projects, including Ocephale collective (APO33 now defunct workshop, Otokan (with John Morin and Carine Lequyer) and Ferrailles ( duo with tabletop/electro freak Olivier Di Placido) and has played with Jérôme Noetinger, Xavier Charles, Martin Tétreault, Fabrice Eglin, Jean-Phillipe Gross, Ferran Fages, Toshihiro Koike…
He now lives in Paris and works steadily with Jassem Hindi (Kelvin Zero) and Christine Sehnaoui.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer, her friends and her ennemies.
KELVIN ZERO Musicians from the young generation of free improvised music, Ferriot and Hindi's approach focuses on an exploration of textures and raw sound materials, primarily working through the antagonism between raw sound material and musical gesture. Together they cast their pieces by piling up materials and provoking blunt dynamic changes, building up sound layers textured by percussions, field recordings, amplified objects, cut-ups, feed-backs… The result is a field of sound stretching from "musique concrete" to noise, crossed by Industrial, harsh noise or coranic chants. They have also played with guests such as Toshihiro Koike, Martin Küchen or Pierre Gordeff. SORRY Same guys, but in a harsh noise set up: Basile Ferriot = DRUM KIT + electronics Jassem Hindi = TRUCK TRACTOR SPRING + FEEDBACKS + cassettes
