"A real gem. Zero One is an artist that just gets better with each new release. If you enjoyed the first two albums then this one is a must have. If you have never heard Zero One before, then this is a great album start with. As a sidenote, the cover art for this one is especially cool!"

BILLBOARD MAGAZINE CRITIC'S CHOICE
"Your life is going to be different now / It's going to be full of possibilities."
Thus speaks a disembodied voice at the beginning of Zero One's sophomore excursion, "Prototype2." Kevin Dooley, the man at the controls of Zero One, lives up to that promise with an entrancing album of electronic ambience, vivid sound design, and haunting moods. Minimalist and austere, the album employs simple elements and repeating cycles to orchestrate a surreal world of whispered voices and melodies that spiral in infinite refractions. "Memory" is a message from a possible future, as lost bytes and bits emerge from a virtual dream state. "Two" offers a hidden code with its "Oogie oogie/oogie eeha" refrain suggesting a password into an underground society. Zero One mixes digital sequences with stereo-panning bongos in a beat groove
worked out in a cyber-coffeehouse. "Prototype2" is the perfect deep-chill album to transition into the millennium."

"Music as intellectual stimulation. That's the concept behind this title from
Northern California synthmaster Kevin Dooley, recording under the name
Zero One. Zero One serves up calculated adventures in electronica - a vast array of clean
synth washes painting visual panoramas of different colors and hues. It's music for thinking
and music that will get you thinking. If you are looking for a good album for your car, this is
the one."

Just to let you know that all your fine efforts on Pseudophone's EP "Reach" are now available to the public, in case you want to see as well has hear the final product.
It was *just* released as a free download from the netlabel Negative Sound Institute. A number of people who have already downloaded and listened have remarked to us how *amazing* it sounds--even out of crap speakers--and i'm giving you full props. This wouldn't be as strong an EP as it is without all your hard work and tremendous talent. Thanks for working with Pseudophone on this one and making it a really special record for us.
And so you know, the members of Pseudophone were just talking a few days ago about how much we can't wait for your new album coming out in September!
Keep up the good work, and thanks again for working your magic on Pseudophone's "Reach".
Peter

I just bought Continuum and Memory on iTunes after hearing you on SomaFM... Great spaced-out stuff! I have been listenting to ambient for more than 10 years and this is the kind of mental/aural trip I love discovering. Thanks & respect!
