LA Deaf Punk	May 29 2009 10:33 PM I need 1 or 2 artists/roomates to share an Approx. 1,400 square foot loft in the heart of the Long Beach Arts District at 3rd and Elm, Free Parking, 3/4 bath, full electric kitchen, Metal security Gate, 2 large store front bay windows (good to display sale items) You have your own large 2nd floor room (approx. 375-400 square feet) with many windows, small pets ok, $750 a month, $375 deposit (negotiable for right tenant). I'm an artist and promoter and I have lived in the same building 14 months and the unit I'm in now is almost finished being remodeled and it is close to all major stores and shopping, the beach is 10 minutes away, it's a live work space so you can have your business here too possibly, I have art gatherings and poetry readings a couple times a month but other than that I'm into books, movies, coffee and vegan cooking. I have 3 cats but they are fully domesticated. Overall the area is very cool and the neighbors are nice. All artists, photographers and a recycled arts center. Please call me as this unit is open for the 1st of June. No credit worries and you have the option of being on the lease 6 months or a year. Room can be furnished or unfurnished. This project's goal is to bring artists, activists, progressive thinkers-educators, musicians and young people together in the Long Beach/Los Angeles area for a DIY (Do It Yourself) Think Globally Act Locally Womyn-GLBT-Animal-Deaf Friendly Enviroment where youth can have a safe and positive space to learn, grow, create and be themselves. Its all about respect and love for life and recognizing the need for positive change then doing something about it. Needed are volunteers, teachers, writers, poets, artists, activists, vegans, musicians and donations of art, posters, pamphlets, zines, books, art materials, paint, furniture, vegan food and so much more. Your ideas & feedback are vital to this project's success. Personally I am tired of seeing the majority of young people I know getting drunk and or high when they could be taking action and direction in their lives and in the world around them.
